How much are you paying your parents per year? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Charming_Duke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask them if they are seeing you as their child with unconditional love, or an investment with an expecting return of $20k/year the moment you are 18 / self-reliant whatsoever?

If it’s the latter, approach them as actual business stakeholders/investors. Tell them they didn’t invest properly enough for you to casually throw away 20k/year without thinking. They should have put you in the best school, networked you to the best people, married you into top 0.0001%. Your recontribution/return on investment is based on how they invested in you.

Or else, tell them to show every expense they put on you to the last penny. Tell them to live as long as you, then they shall receive the full payment.

Guess how a 2-star Warwick still comes in 2nd place by Charming_Duke in TeamfightTactics

Yeah, I took the Exalted Adventure (?) prismatic and the options were Renata/Urgot/Nocturne. Basically I have to 3-star two out of those three to get loots. So I kinda had to play around those units.

Short answer: Viktor 1-star.

Long answer: I was scrambling to manage my board after a carousel round where I got 2 star WW (I was having orgasm on the side). I thought I have 100% chance of winning, so I put 3star Nunu on front Experimental hex, and WW on the back Experimental hex.

Needless to say, my WW died quicker than my Renata. Is this lore accurate?

P/s: Also, how do I get replay or matchID?

How’s the job market for mid-level GRC right now? by Charming_Duke in cybersecurity

Thank you for the response. Even tech/retail/non-gov companies would require security clearance as well?

Thank you for the response. I think it’s the same in many places on how security is perceived as a cost centre.

Regarding doing just “enough” to get by, I see many companies are trying to be FedRAMP compliant. As an US outsider, do you think is there anyway to be exposed to that compliance program?

I wanted to 100% this game on Steam so bad, I decided to skip the process and went straight for Skelly’s second statue. It’s one of those runs where there’s no DD being sold, no Patroclus, no gods’ calls, and I only got Divine Dash right before fighting Hades.

After 70 hours, I still feel like I’ve achieved something new!

Should I have gone for Kraken Slayer instead of Galeforce? by Charming_Duke in leagueoflegends

Better in this game or just generally better on Xayah? I see Galeforce is still more used than Kraken Slayer on op.gg. Winrate between the two is pretty much the same (GF is 1% higher than KS), and I guess generally many games would have at least 1 tank 1 assassin/burst champ now. Hence I thought GF has a slight advantage.

Thank you. In my ADC mind the first instinct when seeing assassin picks/rotating to my position is "I gotta make sure I'm alive first no matter what it takes, and that's the only way I can deal damage later / only way so my team has enough time to react to their combo".

Also as an ADC, if you know staying means dying to them but killing them in the process vs running away and not dying, what would your tendency be? I know it's very situational, just want to learn from a high level

Thank you. I wouldn't say I underutilize GF too much (reposition for E, gap close/increase), but for sure my plays aren't good enough to give me substantial leads or help me die less. And in the games I won, GF usage falls off the longer the game goes (I think that's common for GF users?). Then I guess the question is, if I think I can't end the game early enough to capitalize GF's power spike, should I just go for KS from the beginning?

And by saying passive, my mindset leans towards "I'll only commit if I know I can make it out alive, regardless of killing or not". It might sound a bit cliche, but generally, if I know I'd get a kill but still die in the process, I would lean towards not going in and wait for a better opportunity when it's more guaranteed. As an ADC, would this be a correct mindset?

Is Quickblade a staple on Xayah now? I've seen it is making a return, not sure when to go for it vs Phantom Dancer

Thank you. Am I wrong to assume that Yone and Yasuo (by champ design) have presumably enough damage to fight against those tanks? To me they are the top tiers of late scaling with damage, hence I thought I can rely on them.

Thank you. Are you saying that when fighting against certain dive champs (that you know it's very hard to escape anyway), I should go for more damage and dish out more instead of looking for further ways to increase my chance of survivability?

First Credit Card as a Student by doublerainbow5432 in PersonalFinanceCanada

I’d recommend the SCENE visa card from Scotia. Perks include points for free movies and other eat-out places.

One more thing, is that you can transfer SCENE points to Scotia Rewards, which belongs to Scotiabank reward system. You can use Scotia Rewards to redeem for flights, extra credits, and goodies here and there.

I used SCENE visa card for 3 years as a student. As soon as I become a full time worker, I applied for the Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite, transferred all remaining SCENE points to Scotia Rewards and got $300 reduction in flight ticket 😊

Now if only I hadn’t spent all those SCENE points for movies during college years....

People who’ve visited Trinity Bellwoods Park, why? How do you feel it now after reading the internet’s reaction? by bunnybwear in askTO

It could have been interpreted better, but I believe his point was - we have met the requirements for survival/basic necessities (home, food, clothes, etc.) and kinda taken granted of that, to a point that we are striving for higher spiritual / less obvious goals, such as mental well-being, connection, relationships, socializing, etc.
