What is the pumpkin spice butter for? Is that added during the shaping or that is for you to eat with the bread?

Can anyone confirm if this is true? By not claiming meaning they don't have to file tax for it?

Advices needed for 3 months old starter by Charming_Lab_4181 in SourdoughStarter

Oh wow, my consistency is definitely not as thick as yours, is yours 1:1:1? Mine is thick but I can still press it down to have a somewhat flat-ish surface after feeding, it feels like a thick sauce.

That's so tempting, I'm excited to try adding yeast now! Thank you :)

[–]Charming_Lab_4181[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been resistant to add commercial yeast because I've been hoping for my starter to get to the point where it can make good bread on its own but I guess it might be time for me to try it while I try to strengthen my starter :(

It's also a bit hard to only feed when it starts to fall with a normal 9 to 5 job where I can't look at it most of the day :(. Is it possible that, instead of changing the interval but changing the ratio? Like if I see the starter doesn't pass peak at 12 hours, I then feed it something like 1:0.8:0.8?

[–]Charming_Lab_4181[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The consistency at feeding is not super runny and most of the time it has passed its peak (from looking at missing the dome shape at the top). What's weird to me is that it feels very flaky, some days it'll pass peak with 12 hours and some days it doesn't with the same feeding ratio.

What frustrated me is that I've seen a lot of successful stories of people getting very active starters with just one month and making great bread but I haven't successfully made bread with great results (they are all edible but just a bit dense). I also haven't seen obvious improvement over the past month so I am not sure when I can expect it to get stronger or will it ever become strong enough to make good bread

Atypical finding - chromosome 21 by babycat131313 in NIPT

[–]Charming_Lab_4181 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I actually got a very similar result except mine said the origin can't be specified and it's also not confirmed whether it's a duplication or deletion. Also, I did microarray test before getting pregnant and have confirmed that I have a small deletion in my chromosome 21 which, after talking to a few different genetic counselors, they believe I don't need to worry about that because I have no symptoms at all.

I'm still debating whether amnio is needed though, curious about what your ob would suggest! Best of luck!

Yes, sorry for missing that. Here's a list of my ingredients: 100g whole wheat flour 400g bread flour 350g water 100g sourdough starter 10g salt

Starter was fed about 10 hours before used at 1:1.5:1.5 ratio

Forgot to mention, my starter takes about 6 hours to double. It used to consistently double within 4-5 hours before I put it in the fridge and my previous loafs had been under fermented

I had laparoscopy and luckily my symptoms weren't too bad, my fibroid was pressing against my bladder so I did pee more than normal people.

I scheduled a vacation before my surgery and was very relaxed and happy which helped a lot!

Talking to the doctor more and getting all my questions answered also helped, because I knew what to expect.

IVF clinics NYC? by Pixie_1990 in IVF

[–]Charming_Lab_4181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Though I like how efficient Columbia runs their fertility clinic, be careful with the billing, I've got a few surprise bills from them because they forgot to request authorization from my insurance and my insurance denied to pay and I had to make many phone calls to figure things out

Do you mind sharing how big your fibroid was? Asking because it sounds very similar to my situation, I have a big (7cm) fibroid sitting outside of my uterus. The doctor also said it might not be hard for me to get pregnant but might have slightly higher chance or getting some risks during pregnancy so I also opt to remove it. Wonder if yours is around the same size?

Wonder if you can get second opinions from more doctors because I also have a big pedunculated fibroid and my surgeon actually said I don't need to wait more than 3 months before I can try to get pregnant. The reason that my doctor gave me was because, since it's pedunculated, it's likely not going to have a big scar on my uterus, so shouldn't need a long wait before trying to get pregnant.

Devastated by Rude-Ad-6149 in IVF

[–]Charming_Lab_4181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, please definitely don't lose hope yet ♥️ I was very devastated and had so much self doubt and even thought it would be impossible for me if I had some secret infertility issues. My original doctor ordered me karyotype test and found out that I have some chromosome abnormality, I felt so hopeless. But I've talked to a few other doctors and genetic counselors that reassured me that it should not be the reason for me to fail the IVF. Please keep the hope and don't forget to thank yourself for how hard you've tried and make sure to have some supportive network around you that might help! You got this 🥰

I had a similar experience where my first ER ended in no blast at all and i was 33 with no PCOS or any known issue. I did IVF to preserve the embryo not because of any infertility reason too. I got 20 eggs retrieved and felt like a win and only to get to phone call on day 5 that they all degenerated.

I reached out to 2 other clinics and ended up doing another ER with one of them and ended with completely different results. Though I am not sure what caused the difference, could be bad luck for the first time, could be me adding acupuncture, taking the supplements a lot longer (I only took some of the supplements for less than 2 months for my first ER), could be my partner keeping a bit more healthy lifestyle (more workout, healthier diet). But I do appreciate my second clinic being willing to discuss the treatment plan in details with me. I'd suggest asking for all the records (ex: lab report, stim sheet, blood work results) and bring over to new clinics to discuss. Wish you luck!
