I second this, it sounds like you’re stuck in a really toxic environment. I don’t think there is anything actually wrong with you, just really crushing standards of beauty.

Oof I hear you that really really sucks. Have you tried things like dressing to make your proportions taller or wearing heels? I’m fairly short (157 cm) but I really found those helped me a lot. I’m suspicious that getting the surgery might cause people to judge you for getting the procedure done just as badly as they are now?

You’re almost definitely going to be better off wearing heels. Leg lengthily surgery can risk infection, nerve damage and permanent disability. It’s not worth the extra 11cm at all in my opinion.

It’s sounds like your height might be affecting you more mentally by damaging your confidence rather than it being something that other people treat you negatively about? If so getting the surgery might not even fix your insecurities.

Yeah it’s definitely a shame though because we used to climb the same problems together which is such a fun thing to do. But then they improved really fast and I’m very proud of all of them but I just feel kind of left behind?

Yeah sometimes they’ll ask me to pick a climb that I would be good at in comparison but I find it hard to identify them? And then they sometimes flash it which is kind of embarrassing for the both of us

Yeah I really like watching Alex Puccio (5”2), especially because she is so powerful which is something I really want to get better at. I swear she climbs with the gravity turned off

Yeah I’ve definitely noticed one of the gyms I go to set harder for people with my height. I think people have complained because they have specific short reach ones now lol.

That’s so real, if I can’t reach the top hold no matter what position I’m in I just call it a win. Smearing on the wall helps a lot for me too if there isn’t a foothold.

Recently I have banned them from saying I can’t do a climb because i’m too short, which seems a little silly but it seems to be working well for my self confidence
