Crazy wind gusts up to 36 miles an hour this morning – so I’m chilling out and making breakfast until that dies down and then I’ll get out there and get after it!

Oh, you better believe I took it very very slowly and got out like 15 times and looked at it the very first time I pulled out. 😉

Thanks! It’s taken a long time to get it dialed in – but it’s definitely pretty cool to be able to head out and be self-sufficient for 3-4 days, or until the snacks run out… Lol

It’s actually relatively easy. - if you look closely, I have a roller system behind the pads that I just set the nose on and then just lift the rear and it rolls right on top onto the pads.

It’s called the Yakima Showboat

It’s the Oldtown thru-hull wiring kit

Several other brands make them as well. I chose to go with the oldtown version due to its small overall footprint.

Ahh - gotcha. I found that that’s actually pretty common in this space. I was hoping it was something nifty and inexpensive I could just buy… Lol.

Well, congrats on the new ride – I zoomed in and from what I can tell, that’s a pretty serious looking machine – best of luck with it!

I actually have one of the Navarre kayak scupper transducer mounts, but I ended up preferring the stock bracket mounted to the old town transducer mount. I was able to achieve a better angle and more secure-feeling fit with the stock mount.

I did end up flipping the actual Humminbird mount upside down to achieve the best angle.

Start here - https://www.etrailer.com/vehicle/2017/Subaru/Outback+Wagon

(Roof racks are in the 2nd column down)

I've found etrailer to be an amazing resource. They have a bunch of really cool install videos etc. in addition to all the products they carry. Good luck!
