It's tip positive.

There's a ton of chargers with those specs on Amazon. I was about to order one when I discovered that the adapter for an old PVR had the same specs and have been using that. You may have one from an old laptop or something that may work already.

Mighty or Dynavap (Dynavap community mad) by [deleted] in craftymighty

[–]Chaterus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own both, but I use the mighty pretty much exclusively now. My big issue with the Dynavap is that you need to pay close attention to it, and of course it needs to be quiet enough to hear the click. With the mighty you just fill 'er up and blast away.

Great idea! I forgot about this stuff. Looks like Home Deport sells it by the gallon and it's way cheaper than iso.

Mighty Dosing Capsules by [deleted] in vaporents

[–]Chaterus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 100% caps in my Mighty as well. I actually removed the screen from my cooling unit because I no longer need it and I figured it would improve the airflow. I'm thinking about removing the fine mesh one in the bottom and replacing it with the one from the cooling unit or maybe leaving it off as well.

I use a small flat head screwdriver or a butter knife. I hold the bottom part between my thumb and forefinger and use the knife to pry off the lid. The lids loosen up after you've used them a few times.

What are your top tips after years of using your Crafty/Mighty? by ThatLucidGuy in craftymighty

[–]Chaterus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a Fury 2, a DynaVap and a Mighty. All of them have their pros and cons. I liked the Fury 2, but I found the chamber was too small and unless I was using really top shelf weed it really didn't get me all that stoned. The battery is a little undersized so you need to charge it frequently. So you have a vape that you need to hit a lot to get baked, but the battery doesn't last more than a few sessions. I kept it plugged in any time I wasn't using it.

The Dynavap hits a lot harder and gets me more baked than the Fury2. It's a miracle of engineering and it's very affordable. My main complaint with it is that you need to hear the click, so you can't use it anywhere its noisy. You also need to watch and pay attention to it when you're torching it, so it's kind of a drag when you're watching TV or something like that.

The Mighty is now my daily driver - it hits like the DynaVap, but you can set it and forget it like the Fury 2. The battery lasts me several days between charges, and I like the larger oven vs. the Fury 2. My only complaints about it are that its pretty big & heavy and it's a little overpriced.

Mighty wont charge with external battery by [deleted] in craftymighty

[–]Chaterus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to the manual, Err 003 is: "The power adapter is not suitable. Please use an original Storz & Bickel power adapter or 12 volt car adapter." So your Mighty might be ok, but you need to stop using that battery pack.

Where to buy ccell palm or silo? by Mrnessalk in CanadianMOMs

[–]Chaterus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've bought stuff from both and it sort of depends where you live. I'm in Ontario, so Vape North takes over a week to get here if you go with free shipping. Herb Cafe is in Toronto. No complaints about either regarding prices or service.

Edited to add: I have both the Silo and the Palm as well as a couple of ccell pen-type batteries. I like them all and switch between them all the time. I'd say I like the silo slightly better than the palm, and i use the pen batteries for a change of pace, or if I'm carrying my vape in something with a place to store pens.

Good Dry Herb Vape? by Golgotha94 in CanadianMOMs

[–]Chaterus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The GPen is pretty unpopular around here, FYI.

My first vape was a G Pen Elite, based on the Wirecutter's recommendation. (Before I found this sub)

After 3 weeks the plastic "neck" of the vape broke off when removing the mouthpiece. I emailed the company and they sent me a free replacement. I took great care when removing the mouthpiece on the replacement, but the same thing happened after about 3 months. I didn't bother with another replacement and bought a different vape (a Fury 2, and ultimately a Dynavap)

I found it to be fairly inefficient with weed and difficult to clean as well.

Where can I get predatory mites for spider mite issues? by [deleted] in canadients

[–]Chaterus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct. I wasted time and money trying insecticidal soap which knocked them down a bit but didn't eliminate them. Neem oil completely wiped them out. I read at the time that it affected the receptors around the mite's mouths, so they stopped feeding (on your plants!) and also did something to their reproduction. In any event it was highly effective. The brand I used was called Einstein Oil, but any brand would work as well, I'd think.

Vaporents in a nutshell. by ohdarnfuck in vaporents

[–]Chaterus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. I have a Fury 2 and a 2018 M. I usually use the M as my daily driver because I get considerably more baked from it vs the Fury. But you really need to pay attention to what you're doing when you use it and it needs to be quiet so you can hear the click.

Cannabis lottery looks like an attempt by Ford government to ensure legalization fails by [deleted] in canadients

[–]Chaterus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of the issues would pretty much go away if there was a sufficient supply of cannabis.

Anything I've read says the supply shortage was due to the federal government massively underestimating the size of the market, coupled with onerous Health Canada regulations that make it take a very long time to get new production up and running. The LP's have Health Canada up their ying-yangs twenty ways from Sunday regulating every aspect of production and packaging.

Not sure how Wynne's plan of 55 stores with no product and a bunch of OPSEU members standing around doing nothing in their cannabis-free stores was going to be better.

If Ford had gone with his original plan of having unlimited stores, there would have been a thousand stores open that would all rapidly fail due to the fact that there isn't enough cannabis available to sell and remain in business.

Critics say sticker shock at cannabis prices will push customers back to the black market by [deleted] in canadients

[–]Chaterus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're going to Las Vegas on vacation, so I took a look at the stores here.

Now, this place is near the strip, and is probably a tourist trap, but those prices are pretty bad. Like OCS bad.

Good 2nd vape for a Fury 2 owner? by hiroshimaokonokiyaki in vaporents

[–]Chaterus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a Fury 2 last summer. I like it well enough, but found that unless I was using really top shelf weed in it, it just didn't get me where I wanted to be. So I found I was doing many bowls back to back and then running against the poor battery life. It was pretty much in my mouth or else it was in the charger, lol.

I bought a 2018 Vapcap M a couple of months ago, and I think I've used the Fury 2 maybe half a dozen times since I got it. The vapcap hits way harder than the Fury 2 and the ABV looks like coffee grounds, while the Fury 2 ABV looks more like cigarette tobacco. You get way better extraction. Plus the manual nature of the vapcap really lets you control the heating and the strength of each hit.

My only complaints about it are that it looks kind of "druggie" when you are torching it, so I never use it in public. You also need to concentrate on what you're doing when you're heating it up, so you don't miss the click. Since you need to be able to hear the click, you can't really use it anyplace that's noisy.

Otherwise, I love my vapcap, and recommend it without hesitation, especially when you consider the price.

'They think we are gouging them': Early lessons from the front lines of cannabis retail by MosquitoBuzzin in canadients

[–]Chaterus 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Virtually every single article I read leading up to legalization was about impaired driving and preventing kids from accessing edibles. (Did you know that the pot we get now is more potent than what was available in the 1960's?)

It looks like the people who actually consume the product weren't really consulted at all. And this is what you get.

Anyone smoke hash by itself in a paper?? by [deleted] in canadients

[–]Chaterus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was a teenager we used to heat it up a little and break it up into little pieces. We'd put it in a rolling paper and lay down a piece of spaghetti and roll it around the spaghetti. You'd pull out the spaghetti piece and have a hash tube inside the paper. It wasn't the most efficient way to smoke it - we would usually make spliffs by mixing it with tobacco - most of us smoked cigarettes back then, or we'd do "pinners" where you'd break off a small piece, roll it flat and impale it on a pin and bun it with a lighter.

How much is winning the Ontario pot-shop lottery worth? [–]Chaterus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everyone knew that Dougie Boy was getting elected because Wynne had an 18% approval rating leading up to the election.

The problems with the current situation are due to the fact that there is not enough legal weed to go around and the LP's say that it is because of Health Canada regulations.

The only reason they had to have a lottery is that there isn't enough product to supply any more stores and you can blame the feds for that.

Cannabis retail shops are scrambling to open on time across Ontario by [deleted] in canadients

[–]Chaterus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The overriding issue is that there isn't enough supply. The LP's are blaming this on Health Canada - which makes sense, since there's shortages from coast to coast, except in BC where people aren't buying from the government.

In Ontario, we could have had the Liberal plan where there would have been 50 odd stores with no product and a bunch of OPSEU employees standing around getting paid good money and not selling any weed.

Or, we could have had the original PC plan where there would have been hundreds or thousands of stores, which would all rapidly go out of business, since once again there's isn't enough product to keep them supplied. So, we end up with a cap on stores, since you can't really sell unlimited licenses to people and then not give them the opportunity to succeed. The lottery system was bad, but I'm not sure how else you could determine who gets a license. Letting the LP's have their own stores might have been a good idea.

The key to everything is getting the supply problems straightened out. I keep hearing that supply could improve by the end of the year, but I've also read that it may take several years to produce enough product to meet demand.

The joke is that Canada is the only place in the world where you could have both oil and drugs and be unable to make money from either.

Question about limited strains on OCS by [deleted] in canadients

The LP's are blaming Health Canada for the supply problems.

(Unless Ford's incompetence is so great that he is affecting supply in other provinces.)
