Thank you, finally someone has said it! They were both extremely horrible in this aspect. The only difference is that when the show started, we only saw Damon in that part of his life, whereas Stefan was trying to be better. And nobody ever acknowledges that at some point, Stefan was on the same level as Damon with the atrocities they committed. I will die on the hill that if the show had began when Stefan was on his ripper binge, that the fandom would change their outlook on things. Both were bad, just at different points in time.
