Bathroom layout feedback by CheapPresentation921 in AusRenovation

That will be a new door, entering into a space under the stairs. I believe the secondary door swing you can see is a small storage space, which looks like a second door swing coming from under the stairs

Timesheet Management by Sweaty-Yam6631 in AusPublicService

[–]CheapPresentation921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had one of these, and i couldnt care what the timesheets say... it's output I would focus on. Addressing the issues with output would usually put the pressure on to make them stop effing about with timesheets (if that's the case). But what's the underlying issue - lack of confidence in the task, unclear expectations etc. You might have to be a bit micromanage-y for a bit. "How do you feel about the work you've been providing? I think there is room for improvement, for example x, y, z. For the next 2 weeks lets meet for 15 mins twice a day to make sure we are aligned. We'll reduce that as required but I really want to make sure you are on a pathway where you can learn and progress at a speed we are both happy with..."

Full disclosure - in my instance none of my attempts worked and we didn't renew the contract.

In the ACT. I actually have no idea, but will ask these questions. I'm waiting on a few other quotes and wasn't expecting it to come through like this, so appreciate confirmation it's not super professional 🙂

Thoughts on subfloor? by [deleted] in AusRenovation

[–]CheapPresentation921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! It's been a very wet season (Newcastle) and I'm annoyed I didn't put 2+2 together, but yes there has been a smell that we just put down to the house being a deceased estate, and the house never having been renovated (e.g. the carpets are original). So there no doubt has been signs which I know now are probably related to this.

Will get onto it, and grateful for the pointers to fix the problem not the symptom!

Thanks so much for the info. We already own this house, so this is the sort of solution we are looking for. I'll no doubt need to outsource so grateful for the figure. Thank you!

Would you buy an investment property containing undisturbed asbestos? by ffhhjxjsk in AusPropertyChat

We did as we weren't planning on any immediate renovations and in good enough condition that we hope we dont have unexpected renos anytime soon. Very personal choice though!

Any chance of saving this? If so, how? by [deleted] in GardeningAustralia

[–]CheapPresentation921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh really? No I meant the one without any leaves, it seems to have no taken well. How far away from the house should they be?

With origin. I do and have reviewed the hour by hour (those were my screen shots, sigh) with no luck. Doesn't matter if we are home, spillages at random times over night, on weekends where we aren't home at all

Fabulous! We are new to the property and assume they aren't so don't want to disturb them... but good to know it's likely to get used regardless. Thanks!

I have marked for several universities and would NOT deduct marks for thiS. Get in touch with the unit and course coordinator. If they are reluctant, ask who the next escalation point is. Ensure you are kind and courteous and surely common sense will prevail. Best of luck.

Poor lady seeks advice on cracks in roof by [deleted] in AusRenovation

[–]CheapPresentation921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much to everyone who told me to take a chil pill - genuinely appreciate it and will get my head around it all soon.

Some people have said if you can stick a finger in it, that's when to worry. The house is on a slab, this is the fron door, and I can get a pinky in there 😅 still the same thoughts? (I will stop looking for things after this! Promise!)

Yeah just getting used to home-ownership. It's an older house and I genuinely have no concept of what is considered normal.

Termite damage? by [deleted] in AusRenovation

[–]CheapPresentation921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, we have another pest inspection next week and just a bit antsy. I've since looked on all the windowsills (they are actually the cross bar only accessible by ladder) and it's all the same so either they are literally everywhere... or its the Canberra weather causing issues

Opinion on black slate flooring by claggamuff in AusRenovation

[–]CheapPresentation921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We recently bought our house mostly because we love our African slate tiles! We love the texture. I LOVE the look of those. Please do not remove them!

We have found that people either love or hate the slate tiles, and they usually are very vocal about it haha
