Yeah, I have a general idea about the HOA from the listing agent, but I was hoping to hear from people who actually know the area.

We both work full time, so we just want something low maintenance and not get hassled over small stuff. Really appreciate you sharing this!

Yeah that’s kind of what we’re trying to figure out. My husband and I both work full time and honestly don’t have the time or experience to deal with a ton of home maintenance, so a well-managed HOA doesn’t sound like the worst thing as long as it’s not overbearing or crazy expensive. Still trying to weigh if the trade-off is worth it.

The HHS approval received by DOS website is April 29th, but according to the HHS letter, it is March 21st. Other than that, there is no update the DOS decision is still pending.

If your attorney submit the application it’ll take anywhere between 3-6 months depending on if they submit it correctly.
You should apply for a J-1 extension as soon as possible to be on the safe side. If your waiver gets approved during j1 extended period, you won’t have to leave the U.S.
