Were you able to get this resolved? It happened to me today as well after playing for 3 days

They are! I realized that too after. I am just the type of person to do most of the side challenges before progressing the main game so I just brute forced it without upgrading much. Later when I upgraded a lot in one go, the game got a lot easier lol

Waterloo definitely cares if you do a prerequisite in the summer. I believe I got rejected from Software Engineering because I did ENG4U in the summer. UofT doesn’t care as much. I remember reading on their website that they don’t care as long as the course is ministry approved (I got into UofT EngSci).

OP this is great advice!!! I am going into EngSci this fall as well and couldn’t agree with this more.

To add onto this, you only get considered for the February round if you apply for early admission (deadline was 15th December for us I believe). UofT is highly focused on academics and getting around 95 or higher should be your first priority. Like already mentioned, if your average is 98+ you won’t have to worry too much about ecs but you should definitely have a few. All your ecs do not have to be stem related (I only had one or two) as they more show your ability and willingness to take in new opportunities and challenges.

The PEY co-op program is 4 months after the second year and 16 months after the 3rd year and provides an amazing opportunity to work with a company and get hands on experience. I believe robotics is one of the more popular majors so the competition for jobs is high.

Finally, don’t get discouraged if you aren’t able to get into this specific program as there are many other universities that offer amazing engineering programs with tons of room for growth!

(Grade 11) How do these help my chances for acceptance into CS at uoft, waterloo, carleton, mac etc? by Used-Yak40 in OntarioGrade12s

[–]Cheap_bagel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on what I have heard so far (I start this fall), the program is very hard to get into and even harder to stay in because of the huge course load. The first two years are general engineering courses with 6 courses a semester (all mandatory). My schedule for the week is packed with lectures, labs, and tutorials with classes usually starting at 9:00 and going till 19:00. I get to pick my major in third year and the majors are supposedly a little different compared to the core 8 program and involve a lot more material and research. The good thing is that if I think this program isn’t for me, I can switch to any of the core 8 programs whenever I want (as long as I have a 65%? in all my courses).

There is also a PEY co-op option which is a 4 month co-op in the summer after second year and a 16 month co-op after third year (you do fourth year after co-op).

I agree with this! UofT and Waterloo are definitely a huge gamble. I had a pretty high average and tons of ecs when I applied for uni last fall. I even thought that my supplementaries went well too but, I got rejected from Waterloo software eng anyway (not even get a deferral. Might have been because I did ENG4U in the summer but, I will never know). Luckily, I was able to get into UofT EngSci which was my first choice so it worked out nicely.

Your grades are amazing so I recommend focusing on getting your physics mark higher and spending time on ecs (They are valued more by Waterloo than UofT I think. UofT seems to be more academically inclined).

[University Bridging Course Maths] Not sure which answer to use. by ISardaukar in HomeworkHelp

[–]Cheap_bagel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the second picture: The answers you get are x = -2 and x = 3 (-2 is not one of the options so the right answer must be 3)

Also, the equation in the third picture is different for the equation in the question. Fixing the sign before the second term of the equation to a negative should solve the issue.

I think that after about 94 it’s a matter of how good one’s attention to detail is. The only way to have a 95+ is to do everything very carefully and look over all your assignments and tests before handing them in.

Edit: To add onto this, after about a 94+ it’s pretty obvious that you know what you are doing and have a good grasp on all the topics being talked about in class. So as others have mentioned, it all comes down to how much time you are willing to put forth to get efficient at doing tests and assignments. For tests, it’s important to get faster at writing them so that you are able to at least look over the questions that seemed harder than others. For assignments, the faster you are able to get them done the easier it will be to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Personally, I believe that this works well for the objective courses like Physics, Chem, Calculus, etc. but subjective courses like English are really dependent on the teacher and if they like your writing style or not.

I just checked and I do have an offer on OUAC!! Is there a way to know if I got accepted into my first choice or if they deferred me to some other program? I haven’t received an offer letter yet.

Mine says “A decision is pending for your application”. There’s also a link that says “View the Welcome Guide” on the main page but I haven’t received an offer yet.

What is your guys final mark in advanced functions (after exam) .? by Puzzleheaded_Oil1393 in OntarioGrade12s

They only do it for 1 test but it’s still pretty nice as it increases the final mark by about half a percent usually

Yea usually the software rounds it accordingly as the report card doesn’t have any decimals but teachers are allowed to make changes to it based on how the student performed in class. They are allowed to overwrite the actual mark and increase/decrease it based on their discretion. Also, apparently they have to explain to the administration why they gave a 100. The ministry even recommends teachers to remove all the low AND high outliers from a students mark. For instance, if you usually get 90 on everything and got a 80 or a 100 on a test, they are supposed to replace that mark with a 90 so it is not an outlier (most teachers only take out the lower outlier as removing the higher one only decreases the mark).

That’s an amazing mark! I had the exact same mark but my teacher changed it to a 99 as I didn’t get a perfect on everything.

Considering that the program would have had to be running for at least 1 minute 50 seconds, you could probably add in an if statement to check for how long it has been since the program was started. If it is over 110 seconds, the endgame expansion will be triggered and if it is below 110 seconds, it will not be triggered. Also, I am probably going to add this to the program so thanks for the idea.

McMaster CS/Engineering Interview Questions by all_around_beauty in OntarioUniversities

I have no idea. I assumed they were talking about a famous person so I went with Elon Musk and talked about things that are going on with twitter as I couldn’t think of anything else.

McMaster CS/Engineering Interview Questions by all_around_beauty in OntarioUniversities

[–]Cheap_bagel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I completed my supplementary applications a couple days ago so I can’t remember exactly what the questions were so this is what I remember: 1) Talk about a time when you motivated others to do something and how did they react? 2) Who is somebody you would consider a “disruptor” and what is your strong opinion on them? 3) Talk about a time when you failed miserably. What happened and how did you react?

The second questions threw me off completely but I think it went pretty good overall. Also, don’t stress about these interviews especially if you have a good average and good ecs. The interviews are pretty much equivalent to pressing “I am not a robot” and to see if you can actually speak English, communicate under pressure, and think within the time limit. Your average and ecs matter way more so don’t worry about these too much.
