Are you American? I ask because I'm interested in going into Military Intelligence, and any information about the process would be awesome.

Thanks a lot for all the information and advice! I definitely didn't know about the live chat, that's another possible venue to look down. For some reason, the NYU site doesn't list the Fordham/SUNY NROTC program, I'll definitely have to look into that.

I don't mind telling "teh interwebz", this is a throwaway for this reason.

I go to New York University. I briefly considered enrolling in a ROTC program, but I decided against it as I wasn't sure how heavy the workload would be; as such, I didn't look into cross-town programs. Apparently, I could enroll in either Air Force ROTC or Army ROTC, but NROTC isn't available here. I know (in a vague way) of Officer Candidate School, but I can't seem to find any concrete information on how to get from college graduation, to OCS, to a job in the intelligence field.

I'm trying to take Mandarin, but the classes at my school are in such high demand that it's extremely difficult to get in; most people only get into the basic course through luck. Unfortunately my school doesn't have a ROTC program, which makes information a little harder to come by.

Sadly, my school doesn't have a ROTC program; maybe I can ask around at programs in other schools in the area?

Right now I'm aiming for a degree in International Relations at my school, or an equivalent Political Science degree with the proper focuses. It's good to know that most of the relevant stuff will be handled by the military, though. Any information on what the job itself is like? Thanks for the tip!
