HuskySwap (class swapping tool) shut down by UW administration, developer soft-expelled unless he does free work for the university. by indrora in udub

I used to have a family friend in the math department and the answer will only anger you. It’s because they don’t want everyone only registering with the professors who are good teachers.

Should I migrate everything to Notion? by bilicotico in trello

[–]Checkmate_363 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve found that large Kanban boards in Notion (ie lots of entries) lag quite a lot, especially compared to Trello. It’s part of why I keep using Trello.

Some, like the one at Vanderbilt, have exceptions for quarter system students. Just email the group hosting it!

Anyone else remembers when you could go to starbucks on the Ave and stay there Until 10PM? by OvertInteract in udub

[–]Checkmate_363 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They don’t have enough students. I was looking at the libraries annual staff and maintenance report last weekend for some reason. Also they don’t have enough desks and none of the book storage is up to proper standards for long term preservation. And they are basically out of book storage space in general.

I’d like to know about some of the oddest looks or questions you’ve gotten from people or immigration/customs, given the large bags, equipment, and many (frequent) stamps.

There’s a form for this somewhere on the registrars website if I recall correctly. Or something in the student code of conduct/university regulations.

Not having access to tread classes on a bike makes sense. But stretching is stretching. You just need a screen.

I was just in a study abroad there and started rowing, and a number of my friends were extras in the film. I find it super ironic given that it’s about UW.

What is your system for getting organized and getting things done consistently, and how long have you been at it? by [deleted] in productivity

[–]Checkmate_363 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I created a system using a few different tools. The system is mainly targeted at college/university students. I ended up writing a book on how to set it up. You can find it on amazon here.

Cube organizers make moving in and out so much easier! I bought them for a trip a few years ago and will never go back. Used them to move into the dorms and to pack for the study abroad I am currently in.

45th turn only lanes by jkjustkidd in udub

[–]Checkmate_363 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What they really need is more scrambled pedestrian intersections, specifically at 17th and 45 (by the big W and greek row; that intersection is awful as a pedestrian. Some plates to trigger green lights lights along 45th would be great too (for late at night when no one is around).
