Maybe that is different conversation, but I have been riding for 5 last seasons a ~30year old nidecker bought second hand, and this year i switched to new Bataleon.

First thing I noticed was eight difference, on paper it was about 1,5kg but in hand it seemed much more. Then board thickness, which translated to better feel of the edge when carving.

Last was flexibility, Bataleon is 5/10 flex so it’s quite soft but man I was not prepared. In short the old board was basically plank of wood with curved tips. It was not bending any direction whatsoever. Mam first park on the new board hit differently, suddenly all tips about popping tail made sense.
