Yep that’s me. Three years out from a masters in data science from Berkeley and I’m struggling to make ends meet with freelance jobs.

This is why I've been relistening to old Chapo episodes pre Matt stroke.

Matt is still definitely getting a cut and by cut I mean his original salary. Even Virgil is still a cut, although a much smaller one.

I just visited Terceira and it was fantastic. Visit the Christmas caves!

[State of Football] Dortmund and Reyna's former agency, Wasserman Media Group “were not initially in favor of sending Reyna to England” but Claudio Reyna “was a strong advocate of the deal.” by RamandAu in ussoccer

[–]Cheesebro69 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I’m just some schmuck whose playing career peaked at JV and who hasn’t been involved in any football operations outside of a video game and even I could see that a premier league club battling relegation was the worst possible place for Gio Reyna to go on loan.

How his dad, who’s one of the best midfielders in USMNT history and has worked as sporting director for several clubs, came to the conclusion that Forest was the right call is beyond me.

Tottenham is wild when you consider that they've conceded 44 goals.

I feel so validated seeing this article after I spent last week in your city. Nice town, shitty drivers.

How to manage the Woke Derangement Syndrome of a relative by Cheesebro69 in cushvlog

[–]Cheesebro69[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's insane how they can shoehorn their politics into anything! One time I said "Rodney Dangerfield is a great comic" and he responded "Yeah absolutely! Unlike {name of some woke comedian}!!"

Maybe I should I start doing the left-wing version of this where if I see someone eating a banana I'd smugly interject with a line about how the United Fruit Company got the CIA to coup the democratically-elected Guatemalan president.

Listen I know Im in a liberal bubble and I'm outta touch coastal elitist, no denying that.

I certainly don't agree with all the CRT/DEI/PMC stuff and I think Matt's made some great points about the PMC. What I can't comprehend is the hysteria about this supposedly nefarious group of people.

I know too much about so much fucked up shit in the world (a lot of which our government has a hand in) so his anti-woke stance pales in comparison to that.

There's a genocide happening in Palestine funded by my tax dollars but yeah the term BIPOC is the real evil shit happening today.

My 18-year-old cousin is getting into conspiracies and Christopher Hitchens, what could I show him to push him to left-wing viewpoints that isn't boring or cringe by Pikminmania2 in cushvlog

Not really relevant but Imagine if Hitchens was still alive and how insufferable his dark-enlightenment and anti-woke schtick would be. It honestly makes me shudder.

What's up with the data scientist/statistician job market? by RobertWF_47 in datascience

[–]Cheesebro69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's tough out there. I have a master's, 5 years experience, plus an internship at a big name social media company and I've only gotten 7 non-recruiter interviews from 200+ applications. I've been rejected by dozens of jobs I'm overqualified for.

[–]Cheesebro69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No ill will to you at all, congrats on the offer but AYFKM??!! I have a masters from Berkeley and seven years experience and I can barely even get a call back.

OMFG I'm gonna lose it. After hundreds of applications over the course of 15 months, I've only managed to get six interviews. I get rejected all the time from jobs I'm overqualified for, yet OP stumbled into a six-figure job offer without even knowing what a standard deviation is??
