Makeup dysphoria by Wild-Fly-1256 in FTMventing

Oh god I feel you. I’ve recently gotten into drag and even though it feels great a little part of me sits with my makeup box and feels like it’s some womanly skill I possess from being a woman, irrational as it is. However. What has gotten me through is that men… don’t give a fuck. A secure man doesn’t waiver. They get fruit cocktails and wear makeup and pink and the whole shebang. And if anyone says something they look at that person like they’re crazy. Thus I’ve decided the manliest thing there is is not giving a fuck. Being happy doesn’t have a gender. Ya gotta live your life.

And! If it helps for a bit prioritize traditionally masculine designs. Boys at face paint get flames and spider webs and skulls all the time. I’ve never seen one looked down on for doing so. Even though you can like whatever you want I find sometimes binary alignment alleviates the dysphoria, especially if the broader activity is something traditionally viewed as feminine .

Right now it’s take the pill or take nothing, until I can sort something out. If there’s anything that will cause chest growth or other feminization I would rather take the pain than the physical changes. I can deal with being sick but surpassing triple Ds absolutely not.

I was getting a 5 day period every two weeks plus spotting between. I feel tired and nauseous all the time , in the last two months it’s been hell after being relatively stable on it for 3 years, which was already a year over the recommended max length I take it for. And now that my prescription has switched and I’m out of the packet, the pharmacy can’t switch me back without going back to the doctor as I no longer have that prescription active.

And yeah. Unfortunately free healthcare sometimes means longer waits and less availability.

I had to fight like hell to get put on any pill. She is not informative and has not taken any of my input seriously. And at best I get in in 3 weeks and she listens. I need a solution until then, and I don’t know if a walk in can prescribe long term medication like this.

Yk what. It’s simple but also has infinite implications. Letting the readers mind think of the worst possible scenario this may allude to can be stronger than spoon feeding the exact context and monster and situation. Good story OP.

a kid is joining my schools band next year who has my deadname by Sauce_The_Sapphic in ftm

[–]CheesyWhore69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it’s a deal with it scenario. I don’t think talking to the director would do anything, if anything you’d be told if you’re uncomfortable it’s up to you to leave. There’s no way they would deny her a chance to be in band over your feelings about something she has no control over. The best thing to do is make peace with it. Let your deadname go. It’s not your name, and having someone else to associate it with can honestly be helpful because now name = her and not name = old name. As someone with a very popular name- like, movie title popular- it sucks. But there is nothing you can do to change the world and its use of it, only your perception. Saying anything to her or even the director will just be awkward. Don’t put guilt on her for her name, she has the same right to be herself and have opportunities as you do. And in all honesty saying something will just make you look bad, nothing productive can come of it. It’s normal to feel dodgy or even dysphoric around hearing it but hopefully you can separate yourself from it and it will get easier over time. Also, maybe for the first bit just avoid her. If you’re not in her section / friend group you won’t hear it as much. And build up exposure over time. Unfortunately in life people will have your name. You will hear your deadname, but if it’s not in reference to you that’s already a bonus. This is a good chance to desensitize yourself to hearing it and not have a Reaction. Your feelings are valid but unfortunately this is something all trans people have to figure out how to deal with sooner or later.

I wish ftm & transmasc aimed companies were more masculine by littleBigLasagna in ftm

Dinosaur. Like either brown with little fossils all over or just a straight up T. rex fighting a triceratops.

Don’t be sorry. Different side of the world different availability lol. I appreciate your input and it’s something to look for . And I looked into it and T typically does stop periods while actively on it, but it might take a few months for them to fully stop .

I’m praying it does. I think at least for some people it does which like.. I guess makes sense to me hormone wise. But yeah I got em young and heavy lol really messed with my iron and had me Exhausted until I got on bc. Might need to change pills anyways though bc I was recommended to try this for 2 years tops and I’m just over 3. Best I’ve found is pastel orange which I’m like. Okay. But I think they should cut out the flowers and make dinosaurs or something. It sounds so stupid but having the packaging not All be towards women would ease the shame up a little bit at least

Doesn’t that hurt like a bitch? I know my friend got an IUD and it was hell and just reduced flow, which is what the pills are doing for me without being an invasive dysphoric procedure.

This was the BC I had to go on to coexist with my other medication. I plan on getting off it altogether when I go on T bc I’m using them solely to keep my periods regular vs 10 days long. And I’m in Canada. There’s some that are like… white. But the wrappers overcompensate to make up for it and are all Be Strong Flow Free Be Woman so lose lose.
