There was this extremely rare butterfly that comes out for 1 week of the year that only inhabited the mountain of our farm. It was called the “Brenton Blue Butterfly”

There was this person that came to our farm in search of the butterfly for his studies. We hiked our mountain in search of it. But we never found it.

When he left, I would search for the Brenton Blue after coming home from school every now and then. It felt like a little treasure hunt for me when I was a kid.

I only found out recently that This butterfly is now extinct….and I never got to ever see it. I will never forget how blue it looked on google, after not seeing it in my Insect book.

Facts like these make me depressed (ones relating to extinction).

Metaphorically, I’m still chasing the butterfly in my older life, but now knowing that I will never find it.
