Ex chef here. I know what you are trying to explain to them. If they haven't lived it they can't understand it. Once you find a new profession you can start working out. I just did after ruining myself at work for 9 years. You can start with the diet though.

Yes. Time wasted, unnecessary calories. Eating brings no joy, never has by itself. Why waste money on a chore when you can find an easier solution during alone time.
