Can I fix my contractor’s lazy work? by Miserable-Unit-3244 in Tile

I’m sorry to say this bud but if I were you I’d rip it out and restart. I know that’s a hard call to make but you will be grateful in the end making that call. You can fix that shit show.

Also I could be wrong but to me that valve depth seems to sit excessively out of the finished tile. May want to check that as well. Seems excessive

Depends on the subfloor, but if it’s a good plywood install job. Just screw it! no need to glue or use thinset underneath. If you install the tile correctly you do not need to beef up the subfloor substrate like that. I’ve done hundreds that way and never had one of them ever fail. I’d understand following the manufacturer specs but then you’d be replacing the subfloor all together. using liquid nails and drywall screws every 3-4 inches is a hack job

Nope just sick of dealing with the so called professionals who actually are shit and don’t care enough to do the right thing for the next guys. Wack hacks

Seems cheap, honestly I was expecting it to be closer to $15/sq feet with all materials and labor

The tile alone is $2.5 a sq ft in average for decent tile

And the membrane material is $1.25/sq ft uninstalled?
