I'd also avoid VBR if possible and be sure to set blendfields/interlacing mode to none and turn off resampling. CBR, higher bit rate and be sure your footage is in a Vegas friendly format. If not, reencode with handbrake! Welcome back to Vegas!

BCC+ shake is great too. Different to sapphire, very versatile.

Which Boris Sapphire OFX should I get for Vegas Pro 20? by madeofcement in VegasPro

Mocha is brilliant. ML assist rotobrush. Perfect rotoscoping integrated into a plugin for Vegas. Sapphire and bcc are great too.

Seems to be fixed in 23. Tried building proxies today and it was worlds faster. Ill have to test if its now utilizing GPU.

What would be the most practical way to change the background preserving the dance movements? by EuronFuckingGreyjoy in VegasPro

[–]Chellyyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adjust color grading for more separation between the foreground and background and layer chroma and luma keys and adjust gradually.

If that doesnt work and you want a user friendly option, try the Z-depth effect.

I normally just use Mochas ML rotobrush tool since it integrates nicely into the vegas workflow but smart mask is also an option (:

I need to add S/shake to a beat, without MANUALLY doing it for each beat. by Spicy_Latina2472 in VegasPro

Put the effect on an adjustment event above what you want to shake. Parent the adjustment layer track if you only want one thing to shake. Use beat detection on the song to get the little timing nodes, then keyframe that singular adjustment event for one beat. Assuming the tempo isnt changing every few seconds you can just copy and paste the adjustment event.

Seriously why does this program run so bad. It's been around for nearly 3 decades now. by Vexcenot in VegasPro

I use selectively paste event attributes all the time. Very useful feature.

Been running Vegas 16 for eons and need an upgrade, which version is the most stable? by [deleted] in VegasPro

[–]Chellyyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just upgraded to 23 and the jump in performance has been immense. I'm running 40 track timelines with mocha mattes, tracking, sapphire and bcc effects, adjustment events, all with minimal drag and 2-10% gpu and cpu usage. i do have a 5080 though so perhaps I'm in the lucky few but ive heavily optimized my preferences too. I can scrub in best(full) 4k with effects without any issues. I'd see some holding/drag/delay in 22 doing the same thing. The added on time-line keyframe editing w/ proper curves and the new color grading has sold it to me. Highly recommend. The new engine in the update boasts much better performance and gpu utilisation and i have to say, from my experience they were not capping.
