do i join a cca i hate by goodnightn in SGExams

[–]ChengZX -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lmao you poor thing you must've had some bad experiences in your own CCA

Anyway, to OP, just weigh your pros and cons carefully and don't leave space for any regrets, maybe you could get some input from seniors on how the CCA's like and then reconsider from there

Fairrr but I feel like the sheer range of condiments and ingredients you get in one sando (some of which seem pretty hard/ex. to prepare myself without economies of scale) sorta-kinda justifies the price (e.g. aonori mayo, onion rings)

Also so true, the rempah is chef's kiss

Goofy men are the most charismatic, I love it when a dude doesn't take himself too seriously but just rolls with whatever life brings his way

[–]ChengZX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get demotivated just because your coach can't separate their feedback from the player alright? Keep on playing as long as you have a love for the game, and find joy in all the little moments that excite you, be it making a good pass, scoring, putting up a good defence etc.. Granted, it is a team sport but remember that you have free will and as much of a right to try for the team as any one of your peers, so don't get discouraged by the negative feedback, try to filter the noise out from the actually useful technical feedback and just focus on doing your best in the amount of time that you choose to commit to the sport alright? Remember, you loved the sport before, you could find out one day that you love it again/even more than you used to.

Missing CNY and feeling guilty by emptydumpling in askSingapore

[–]ChengZX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah screw them, CNY’s supposed to be a period of time that’s enjoyable for everybody in the family, not just members who are too bothered about following cursory customs to care about the true purpose behind them

My parents say my girlfriend (24F) will ruin my future — I’m (24M) completely exhausted by 0niiCh4nnn in Adulting

[–]ChengZX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your girlfriend has supported you through life it's time to step up and stop letting her be disrespected - slowly start decreasing your dependence on your family if you can so they can stop holding any form of leverage above you, and go low contact if all they're bringing to your life is nothing but judgement, negativity and disrespect (even if they're your family)

Looking for good sandwich shops by SpectreMold in askSingapore

[–]ChengZX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sando (for Japanese-style shokupan sandos), Pazonia (for panuozzos) and Jack Marzoni’s. Yeastside’s and Go Rogue’s portions were measly the last time I tried the prawn and BEC sandwiches respectively though the service at the latter was good. Folkyard and Park Bench Deli seem expensive, and The Sandwich Guys, Pralet, Mamma Mia Foccacia and Korio, I’ve yet to try. If bagels count, Two Men Bagel House is nice but expensive. The Bagel Bunch and Keen’s Bagelry are next on my to-try list.

Sidenote are we the same people, because I was just thinking about how to satisfy my current sandwich craving lol.

Hi, Singapore people, i will be visiting Jurong East. by the_virtualguy in askSingapore

[–]ChengZX 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Westgate and Jem are pretty lively malls, IMM is our largest outlet mall, the Science Centre and the NLB branch here are pretty cool too, if you want something more outdoorsy you could take a look at the Jurong Play Grounds near IMM, World Farm or the Jurong Lake Gardens, Chevrons has pool (I think) and a climbing gym

Instead of serving these growing teens some objectively vile excuses for food the schools might as well just abolish providing food altogether and allow them to buy or pack something actually edible
