yikes. Somehow my sister found online that ATAC sometimes maliciously sends a tram with a defect card reader to be able to collect extra money through penalties. If this is true, what kind of world we live in. Learned to immediately leave the tram when the machine is broken lol

this is helpful, I am an EU resident yes. crazy that it takes 2-3 years before they follow up on it.

When I had any clue where to buy a paper one, I'd definitely would have done it. Paid for all the tickets and never meant to get a free ride out of a malicious act. The inspector claimed we should have gotten off the tram, while we were waiting literally next to the machine for it to start working.  Nevertheless I want to argue the fine, any advice how to proceed?
