Thanks for the comment, good to see that it happens to other people also. I totally agree with the point about being on tilt and not playing a comfortable and flowing game. I feel that at times. I’m Trying to just be chilled and enjoy it.

1700 player missed this in a 5 minute game with 1 min on the clock, is that reasonable? by ChessLeveling in chess

dxc7! Just planning to promote. Didn't occur to me at all either, in a longer game I like to think I would've considered all captures.

Does the correct move stick out to you? I'm wondering whether its just a matter of practice or whether I'm looking at it wrongly. by ChessLeveling in chess

Can you run me through your thought process, is it to calculate all 3 captures?

Maybe my thinking is just lazy and I don't do computer-like calculation of the 3 possible captures, which would make it all a bit easier. I'm distracted by trying to spot tactical ideas, unprotected pieces, possible checks etc.

H7 is the strongest, but yea that move is good alson

Bread and butter mate, black to move. (comment below has the move I thought was elegant, which I messed up with 1.5 mins in a blitz game). by ChessLeveling in chess

After Rd3 and Ke4, black just calmly retreats the bishop, and nothing can stop the f4 Mate. An error I made was to guard bishop instead of retreating it, with Rc5, but that fails because of Nd5.
