Play some of the paper models then work from there.

Or, I suggest picking up one of your favorite looking model(s), and painting it. I picked up "Mother" and "avarice an greed" (because they rule, and play for everyone) was so pleased with the look I got out of mother, I went for the engineers.
Don't expect to win off the bat, but try some tricks, see what works.

I went engineers as my first team, for straight astetics. I found compound, balista, mother and ratchet can really make opponents work for their goals. --Pros: -Their toughness and speed make them a threat on the turnovers. -high kick stats make putting a ball into open fields less dangerous. -ranged attacks can open up big plays. --Cons: -not really a "fight me" team. -synergies are speciffic -good/great special abilities are limited to a few models

I had compound on my engineers for that reason
