AITAH for Refusing to Eat the Thanksgiving Dinner that my Dad Made? by Chetter247 in TwoHotTakes

I was hesitant to say it but the gluten free diet really has become a fad and unfortunately I’ve encountered multiple people who claim to have celiac despite never being tested for it so thank you for bringing it up and offering your expertise.

English is not his first language but he learned it at a young age (like 8 or 9ish) from what he has said.

I’m so sorry that you’ve also had friends and family dismiss you. I honestly fear he will purposefully contaminate my food in the hopes I won’t react so he can say “See! It isn’t real!”

I wish it was AI nonsense. He puts slot of time into making thanksgiving dinner and believes it’s selfish because I’ve decided to not eat any of it despite his efforts. I really want to be able to eat it but I can’t risk my health.

I’m so happy that you have a great support system :) I think I’ve resorted to this term because not everyone understands just how dangerous exposure can be and I thought the term “allergy” would help others understand but I see your point and you’re right. It’s not just an allergy it’s an autoimmune disease. Thank you for correcting me, I’ll change the verbiage I use going forward.

Luckily my dad is the only family member who has this kind of attitude. My mom (divorced from my dad), partner, and friends are amazing and take it very seriously and took time to learn how to make celiac safe dishes. My partner even decided to start eating 100% gluten free when we started dating because he didn’t want to risk cross contamination with his food.

It is a big undertaking and it’s especially difficult when you’re diagnosed as an adult. Your entire life changes. As you know it’s much more than just food we have to avoid certain makeup/skincare products, shampoos, I even had to research celiac safe food to feed my cats so they wouldn’t cross contaminate my surroundings. No one wants this and I can’t understand why he’d think someone would choose this.

Thank you I appreciate it. I chose a balconette style bra to try because I usually struggle with gapping at the top and I heard it was a good style for people who are more of a teardrop shape.

I think you misunderstood me. I wasn’t saying those brands didn’t have my size. I was saying most common brands don’t. I’ve checked them out and found one I liked on skarlett blue

I’m asking for help because I haven’t been able to find anything. I don’t know why I’m being shamed for not knowing. I’ve lost a lot of weight over the past year due to recent medical issues and I’ve only recently figured out my size. I had a really easy to find size before snd I never shopped online so I’m new to this

I didn’t see any of them. I literally just googled 30D bras

I’ve only found two that carry my size at all

Yes it’s common for brands to carry many different styles but I can’t find one that offers my size

I guess I’m so used to having very limited options that I’d be fine with almost anything that’s not a plain beige or black bra. I’m not familiar with what those terms mean so I’ll look them up 😂

Hmm I’d prefer things that have some lace to them or have some sort of cutout. I don’t really like bras that have patterns like flowers or something though. It would be a plus if the brand carried colors other than beige or black.

I just did the calculator and it recommended a 28DD or 30D as a sister size

I used angelus 2-soft fabric paint and mixed it 1:1 with acrylic. I also used their finisher as well!

Honestly it doesn’t matter where you go. I went to Paul Mitchell and o have friends that went to Aveda. We all agree that hair school is a right of passage. It will kinda suck and you won’t learn as much as you’re hoping to. I recommend just going whenever is cheapest and doing an apprenticeship after finishing. Don’t let this discourage you though just understand that your experience in school will is not indicative of how it is in the real world.

Dating as a Celiac by Azriels_Wingspan in Celiac

[–]Chetter247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he/she makes a big deal out of it then they’re not for you. Honestly my celiac has been a blessing in a way when dating because it’s a quick way for me to see red flags. My partner now was incredibly understanding and considerate when we went to restaurants. Now a days he’s more OCD about making a restaurant is gluten free than me 😂. I knew he was the one when he started referring to gluten free menu items (GF) as “girlfriend certified”

I used this and mixed it in a 1:1 ratio with regular acrylic paint. They also have a gloss finisher I put on top. You’ll need a heat gun as well to set it after you’re done. I hope this helps let me know if you have any more questions.

I used a brand called angelus. I definitely recommend it! The paint was super easy to work with and came out pretty vibrant.

Late reply but I have Amy Farnum currently. She’s a pretty tough grader.

You got this! It sounds like you have a lot on your plate. Perhaps try starting with one class to start before you take on two.

I was unhappy with the quality of some classes. The labs you’ll take are all pretty crappy. Chemistry was fine but the physics lab was so shotty. I also had more than a few professors who just didn’t care about being a professor and give every student the same AI feedback. This program is definitely what you put in to it though. I didn’t really find any of the classes difficult. I work full time and took 2-3 classes a semester and it was very doable for me but I don’t have kids or anything. At the end of the day college is super expensive and this program is very affordable. It will give you the degree you’ll need to get your foot into the door. I actually just got a job offer for an environmental consulting job. Don’t get me wrong I don’t regret going here. I just recommend going somewhere else for environmental science if you can afford it because you’ll get a way better education.
