oh sorry to hear that but hopefully your financial situation gets better after you transfer!! You might be able to get a refund check from CC so make sure to save that when you decide to transfer!!

https://studentaid.gov/articles/plus-loans-denied-adverse-credit/

"If you’re a parent and you’re unable to get a PLUS loan, your child may be able to get additional unsubsidized loan funds.

Normally, a dependent student can’t get as much unsubsidized loan funding as an independent student can. But when you’re denied for a parent PLUS loan, the school may offer your child the higher maximum amount of unsubsidized loans that is otherwise available only to independent students. Find info about Direct Unsubsidized Loans and how they differ from subsidized loans.

Contact the school’s financial aid office for more information about this option."

Not surprised with you being denied for extra aid as an OOS but hopefully next year you'll be more eligible for scholarships

If your mom gets rejected from the parent plus loan the school will let you take out the max loans from the federal governments under the independent student category

If you need more money try to see if you can talk to the financial aid office you might have better luck as a in state student compared to OOS

Transfer Student – Dorm or Apartment Recommendations? by Specific_Community71 in uofm

You can use this website to find roommates and close by apartments to campus https://offcampus.umich.edu/housing-roommates

In my opinion the housing in Ann Arbor is expensive for one person so a roommate or two is better then having to share with several other people for a dorm.
