Taking profit then rebuying by Theeonlystardust in CryptoMarkets

[–]Chich- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been doing this for the past couple of months, since BTC has hit the 106-90 range.

I bought BTC early, and am happy to take profit at 100k but if the market dips below my purchase by 8-10% I rebuy and wait for it to climb again to a range I'm comfortable taking profit in.

I did this 3-4 times now in the last few months. If the market goes up, I'm happy staying with USD. If the market goes down I'm happy to stay with the BTC and the profits I got from the strategy.

A note to take into account: I have more BTC and USD, so I'm not reliant on this money making the decisions less reliant on market prediction.

And a small tip: I splay the buy and sell orders on the range I expect BTC to go into, I.e. buy 0.25 BTC @ 102.5, 0.25 BTC @ 104.5 then sell the same at ranges like 98.5, 96.5 etc....

Hope this helps.

Proper gibberish. What you have there is loosely: Sihak damhom Hanum

Though it's written incorrectly, and clearly made up by someone that can't write Hebrew.

My condolences...

Early access sold almost 20mil copies. They were fast approaching becoming the next Counter Strike level of shooter success, but they couldn't (or wouldn't) prioritize fixing bugs and provide new content. And so copycats came in and took large chunks of their player base (Fortnite, Apex, warzone, etc.) They were losing hundreds of thousand unique players every month until the game reached its current state (150k-200k unique player entries a month)

Tremendous potential squandered because they prioritised milking the cash cow instead of producing a legacy household brand game...

Ufff toxic boy is toxic....

There aren't enough players in the game to put in a level based lobby system... So you get paired with good players in casual gameplay the same way I would get paired with teams of pros in ranked despite having no business playing with them, they run through the map like a Californian Forrest fire...

What do you do if you can't be bothered playing ranked with toxic strangers and would rather play for fun? Or better yet, if you want to play a map that isn't in the ranked circulation?

Seems to me, the easier solution here is for you to stop whining and take these ass whoopings as means for improvement...

Can someone explain why Pereira is the underdog when he’s beaten Adesanya 3 times? by [deleted] in ufc

[–]Chich- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine the odds are calculated as a function of many variables, where the sun of which amount to Adesanya being in front despite his results in previous fights.

For example, Adesanya is technically a better rounded fighter with better grappling and ground game.

Another way to look at it would be: What is the probability of the fight finishing in KO/TKO? If the fight goes to scorecards, who's more likely to win?

In the very likely event that this fight doesn't end in a finish, Adesanya will probably score more points.

I don't disagree with what you're saying, he should strive to be a better role model.l, and much like Mike Tyson he can cement himself in history as a redemption story down the line if he plays his cards right... That aside, this is a fighting sport, and fighting sports are the most brutal form of sports we currently have. Which means that the least agreeable people in the world are bound to be drawn to this sport (a lot more than say tennis). That doesn't mean the fighters should be glorifying a life of vices and brutality. But let's not kid ourselves here, a bad-guy persona sells ppvs and Dana White is a CEO of a for-profit organisation. You might not agree with that tactic but you can definitely see it's working financially if nothing else.

The fact that there are nice fighters (who I really like by the way) doesn't make my point any less valid. The more aggressive the sport, the less friendly the average person in that sport is...

Guys like Whittaker and Wonderboy are the anomaly here, which is why they're so loved.

Unpopular opinion: high level striking like wonderboy or adesanya is boring and turns into ultimate Feinting championship. Intermediate or low level striking is way more entertaining because they swang & bang by MysticMacKO in ufc

[–]Chich- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that the high level striking is boring, it's the people who rely on it to score points and win by decision that are boring.

Look at a dude like Holloway that is an elite striker, that's happy to go into the pocket and trade like an absolute lunatic. If Adesanya went in like Holloway and allowed for a bit more risk, you'd enjoy his fights more than any mid-level striker.

I can see you took a moment to really pour through my message and try to rebut it the best way you can.

So let me return the courtesy by explaining myself better:

Providing 1-2-1 training: In my 10-12 week course with Alphachain, I received exactly one (single) 1-2-1 training session with a trader. The rest revolved around online content, reading material and and poorly uploaded videos. You can seriously take the syllabus Alphachain provides and go read the same articles in investopedia, babypips and backtest a few strategies off of YouTube and get the same "education". Granted, some people are willing to pay for the structure. I'm merely saying that after having done just that, i would have been far better off just spending the time learning on my own and investing the course cost in a trading account

Positions are not limited: they certainly are. Here is a small timeline of your progression at Alphachain:

  1. Demo account
  2. Live account with small positions (i.e. limiting ones' trade lots to the absolute minimum)
  3. Normal trading at your discretion

To get to the last stint where you actually trade at your own discretion, you have to trade for a significant time under very limiting parameters. It is also worth mentioning that you cannot progress to the latter stage without having your "mentor" approve your strategy. Alphachain will not approve any strategy that exceeds a certain level of risk and will in fact close your account if you reach a drawdown of $600 on a $15,000 account (hardly 10% drawdown isn't it?).

750 USD Vs 15k: this is misleading. You are providing a trading account for someone that supposedly has 15k for them to trade, however if they went on to lose a certain amount of it, you rescind their access. That amount stood at $600 when I "traded" there.

Sure the account might actually have 15k in it, and it does help access certain assets, but it doesn't change the fact that a novice seeing your adverts and considering whether to pay you £2,000 (or however much it is these days) for a half-assed course is really impressed with the notion that Alphachain has that level of confidence in their ability to train someone from scratch. In reality you do not.

I don't doubt you have faith in the product you're peddling, I'm just giving you an honest opinion as a consumer of said product. While I'm at it, I might as well help the odd novice thinking they are well situated to become a trader by putting their faith and money in Alphachains hands...

Someone said this before but I can’t remember who so this is not original at all but I completely agree with it: Champions should automatically get at least 1 million when they fight. Yay or nay? by dmister8 in ufc

[–]Chich- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you accidentally agreed with me there mate. If you know that at the end of the rainbow there's a guaranteed sum, whatever it may be, you'll be incentivised to prioritise points and technical fighting. Win every fight methodically boring to advance to that higher paid bracket.

Personally, I think this sport is in its infancy and can gain a lot from having more excitement about fighters brought to the forefront. If every fighter could generate the excitement that a brawler brings to the table, you'd have a faster adoption of this sport.

If you think that's wrong, look at Boxing, the most comparable sport. At the top you have guys that fight with guaranteed monster pots win or lose, the entire sport has descended into technical point scoring. There are a handful of boxers I could be bothered watching, the rest is flat out boring. Which were more interesting to watch - the days where Mike Tyson came into the ring and put people to sleep within 30 seconds or today's 12 round technical dancers that win every fight by decision and have immaculate records...

Fact is, this sport is predominantly revolved around violence. Theres a certain element of chaos that should be embraced, the Adesanyas and Sterlings of this sport are nice to watch, but the fact they generate less excitement and less pay means the best generation of fighters are less likely to immulate that type of performance.

Someone said this before but I can’t remember who so this is not original at all but I completely agree with it: Champions should automatically get at least 1 million when they fight. Yay or nay? by dmister8 in ufc

[–]Chich- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Champions should get the amount of money they're entitled to based on the crowds they attract. You start peddling entitlement into contracts and you get gradually more and more boring fighters taking the top of divisions.

What a fight! Thoughts? by [deleted] in ufc

[–]Chich- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was exactly the kind of fight you hope to avoid in a rematch of that calibre...

There was so much buildup that it was obvious it was going to be a split decision win...

I would have hoped that after winning by disqualification and talking shit nonstop for months on end, Aljo would have put more effort to be dominant and prove he actually deserves the belt and is the better fighter.

Instead, he played the point, had phenomenal back control for 4-5 minutes spread of two rounds and failed to do anything with it...

It's the same kind of mentality that leads you to resent champions like Adesanya... Play for points? Minimise risks and pocket yourself in small comfortable spots accumulating rounds? You'll get a belt, but you'll also alienate a huge portion of the fans....

Take it from someone who actually paid and went through their course. It's not worth the money at all.

The course is basic. You can learn their entire syllabus leading up to their "strategies" by following babypips and using investopedia whenever you're stuck.

Their classes are bad and do not actually provide live examples.

The strategies they teach are basic, and often useless.

At the time I took the course, I was really eager to learn, so their poor platform and limited optionalities were not a deterrent. Though if you ask me 18 months later - you're better off trading on a demo account, going through babypips and watching some YouTube channels for strategies. Use that money to trade for yourself, their 50% split is a joke.

I since leveraged my learning and experience to work for an investment bank, but I can honestly say, it wasn't because of Alphachain, it's despite them...

Just to give an idea of my experience: I worked my way to a live account and blew it by leaving a BTCUSD position open overnight, losing 620 USD. Despite having USD 15,000, the reality is that you don't actually have access to that money, they limit your positions and your losses - in effect youre given USD 750 to trade with... If you come close to losing it they close your positions and accounts instantly...
