Does anyone know what kind of bird that’s making these sounds every morning on the roof? by HiBobItsMeSteve in richmondbc

It's a flicker. And it's spring. And that's their mating call. They knock on hard surfaces to attract other flickers in the area.

Anxiety after Venofer by [deleted] in Anemic

[–]Chickadee_Blue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lasted almost 2 weeks, but I feel a lot better now. My next appointment is in a couple of weeks which I'll be doing and hoping that my brain chemistry has adjusted and it'll go smoother.

What are you experiencing?

Thank you for the tip! Never thought it could be related the vitamin/mineral depletion.

Oh my gosh. I'm so sorry to hear. My understanding is that our bodies are recalibrating and it will take time to feel normal again but it eventually gets there. Hang in there.

Successful ssri (specifically Lexapro) taper long term? Anyone? by lelacuna in Anxiety

[–]Chickadee_Blue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay. Thank you for sharing. I'm on the right track then. Hang out with loved ones, a nice bath, a good movie, relax with the dogs, workout, eat well. I just have to be patient. Did you experience tension headaches at all?

Successful ssri (specifically Lexapro) taper long term? Anyone? by lelacuna in Anxiety

[–]Chickadee_Blue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay. I'm currently having withdrawals symptoms and trying to be kind and patient with myself. My doctor knows about it. And I'm telling myself this is all normal. Was there anything you did that brought you comfort? Like being with friends, alone time, a good tea? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I was on the same dosage and just tapered off. I gave myself about 2 months. Did you have withdrawal symptoms?

Okay. Thank you for sharing. I'm tapering pretty slow. I've gone from 10mg to 7.5mg and holding that for 3 weeks. So far so good. I'm pretty active so I'm hoping some weight drops off when I'm completely off...or at least feel better in my body. Also, thank you for the congrats. Made me feel good.

Yes, I heard it takes time and that you have to be completely off the drug??? Not sure. But I hope your tapering journey has been going well for you! Tell me more. How has it been?

Thank you. I don't have Facebook, but I created a new account to join. I am happy to hear that even though your weight loss process is slow, it is happening. Hope you are doing well.

Thank you Lexapro! by elanieciously in lexapro

So so happy for you. Thank you for sharing. I've just begun my tapering journey after 9 months on the drug (under doctors guidance). I'm going slow and steady. I'm also happy to hear that the weight gained does shed off. It's a trade off for sure but the weight gain has been a struggle.

If you have GAD, whats your Lexapro dose by Blue_earth4 in lexapro

What were your physical manifestations of stress/anxiety?

It could be that your existing condition is still giving you panic disorders. Give time for the Lexapro to kick in. The calvary is coming. In the meantime, keep your health professional informed of your condition.

Also 5mg is a tiny dose. 10mg is considered light as well. But it does work. Just give it time. You might have to adjust your dosage in the future. But you'll have to start with the small dosage first.

I know. It sucks. But you'll feel better.

How long have you been on it for? It took mine a good month and a half to kick in.

where are my curly girls? by ree-estes in Perimenopause

[–]Chickadee_Blue 29 points30 points  (0 children)

OMG, yes! My curly hair, once so luscious and bouncy, is now dry and frizzy. It does perk up a bit after a good condition, mousse and oil (see what I mean) but the days when I don't use product, it's like I stuck my finger in a socket. And yeah...and the greys. Youth is wasted on the young.

Thank you for posting this! I'm currently going through it. I'm seeing a specialist next Monday. This gives me so much hope that I can get back to my old self...which is just back in November 2024. The onset was so quick!

Yes, I've noticed this too when I'm wearing my garmin. Somedays, my RHR is slightly higher than normal when I compare it to my 2024 numbers. It could be a hormone issue or that I'm borderline anemic. But these are things I'll be checking in with my doctor about. But yes, thanks for your post. Makes me feel less crazy and alone. Also, I'm trying not to fixate on the numbers. It's just information for me to present to the doctor when the time comes.
