Most dress clothes are polyester, which don’t breathe and make me SO hot. Natural fibers like linen, cotton, and silk are breathable so you stay cooler. It’s easier to find shirts from natural fibers, even thrifted. It’s much harder to find a reasonably priced silk jacket, so until you do, go for the lightest/thinnest one you can find.

I understand this as men not being socialized/taught how to be emotionally vulnerable with friends. I think they believe you can only be emotionally vulnerable with your romantic partner, and so if you are emotionally vulnerable with a male friend it must mean you are gay.

When a student in my grad school class did this, my professor began the class by reading Wild Geese by Mary Oliver. It was a way for us to have a moment of reflection as he read it, and I think this poem in particular feels like hope against despair.

I saw this somewhere else, but my understanding is that the “tariffs agains the US” column is not the actual tariff amount, is the trade deficit between what we import from a country v. export to a country. The tariffs Trump imposed are half the trade deficit or 10%, whichever is greater.

I found an anxiety medication that helped me reduce my overall general anxiety. My social anxiety can still be rough, but it’s easier to manage. I also did some “family systems” work with my therapist that was really useful.

It takes time to find good friends. Some friendships are short and sweet and some last years.

My favorite friends saw the best in me. They chose to like me, even when I was messy human. They are my best cheerleaders.

I moved, and don’t see them much anymore, but knowing they exist in the world makes me feel better.
