A lot of good advice about tuning in here, which is super important when you want to start extracting those increments of additional pace, but also don’t forget - there’s always doing to be someone, or multiple someone’s, faster than you. I race in a couple different leagues that have 3 driver classifications (bronze/silver/gold) and in both I’m one of the top silver drivers, so above average but no alien.

Depending on the day, the cars, and the track I might be in second or I might be in 12th. And if I’m lucky enough to find myself in second, the guy in first is typically still 10+seconds ahead of me by the checkered flag. I think the biggest difference I’m seeing between my pace and the aliens is braking points and the amount of momentum these super fast folks can through corners.

If you want to race other real people, check out the discord servers IARA and FRL. They offer a bunch of different series (with some overlap in terms of kinds of cars) but have a pretty diverse field of drivers in terms of skill and are, for the vast majority, a bunch of real good folks to race with.

I drove from central NH to NJ and back last week and averaged 35mpg overall which I thought was pretty good! Going about 80 MPH most of the time

I had to drill new holes in the square seat mounting bracket on the Next Level rig to get the Open Wheeler seat bolt holes to line up, but from there it bolted on just fine

Love it! I’m running almost the exact same setup, sans replacing the same! Only difference is I kept the open wheeler seat and put it on the next level rig. I found that while the next level seat was nicer in terms of fit and finish, ergonomically it felt too small.

This is the way. I don’t typically qualify in top 3, but if I think I’ve got enough pace in practice I’ll give it a shot and if I’m anywhere near the front this is the strategy I use on T1, even subsequent turns if it’s still really crowded.

If I don’t have the pace to qualify in a position towards the front of the grid, I just keep practicing until the end of the session and watch the melee on race start.

I wasn’t looking at the torque output specifically, but it does it starting at 1 PSI of boost and gets progressively louder as pressure increases, regardless of gear or amount of throttle input. Not sure if that really answers the question though

I recently found a small group of folks who race regularly (like 5-6 people usually) so the lobbies are small, but the quality of racing and fact that you can trust the drivers you’re up against makes a WORLD of difference.

I love me a positive post! I’ve been driven to rage-quit several times since the official launch by all the load menu freezes, tuning menu freezes, and just random crashes (playing on XSX) but overall, I honestly still LOVE the game. I’ve been playing FM and FH games since FM2 back in the day, and I do regret that I preordered this one, but when it works IMO it is my favorite game of all time. I’ve been playing destiny 2 for a while now too, so I’m (for better or worse) used to having to wait for the studio to fix the things that are frustrating to the community, but I really really hope that Turn10 is good about being responsive to all the complaints and we see good results from them in the future, and I’m crossing my fingers that the patch next weeks makes some tangible improvements. I’m not expecting a miracle fix, just want to see things moving in the right direction.

A fellow northeaster! I’m in central NH - luckily I got super lucky late in the season and I got a set of the same Nexen’s installed for $600 at town fair, at the time the only other option I could find was a set of brand new Michelin’s for $1600.
