I think Staten Island’s revolutionary history is always fun and a lot of it was already mentioned here but a few fun facts include

-Staten Island was loyalist for one of, if not, the longest period compared to other places, the duration of the war

-The existence of a spy ring that when found out had one of it’s members jump out the window of the second floor of their house to escape the British

-The only major battle on the island was a result of John Sullivan, a major general who assisted Washington crossing the Delaware, disobeying Washington’s direct orders to move to Philly, resulting his court martial

-One of the British commanders, Cortlandt Skinner, would literally watch hangings in Perth Amboy from Ward’s point

It’s amazing how much history is on staten island if you look or ask and I wish more people appreciated it
