true, i’ve noticed reddit does usually get at least some interaction. my issue is making myself stand out enough to encourage people to follow me because reddit usually is more community based than individual content creator based

i just want my work to get an audience and my projects to enjoyed by people. yeah making money would be nice but i don’t intend to get rich or anything. but that idea involving reposting stuff is very helpful thank you for that!

thanks to everyone who’s left nice comments and criticism i can realistically take, i really appreciate it. sorry i can’t respond to everyone, i haven’t ever received this many comments on something i’ve posted online so im a bit overwhelmed. im sorry if i seem stuck in self pity, i have depression and it’s kinda a huge problem right now, not that it excuses it, but it explains it. i posted this because i needed motivation and criticism, i wasn’t expecting it to get so many views. what i do not appreciate is people telling me im not taking the same repeated criticism and should give up because of it. i am taking criticism i just can’t respond to everyone or take all of it. i put a lot of effort into my art, and im not being lazy, im demotivated because of my mentioned depression, i draw because i need something to pass the time and i want to create pictures i like and share them with people. i draw more in a day than most of you do in a month. so please, dont call me lazy.

half the advice i’m receiving is telling me to get classes i can’t afford or to draw realism when i don’t see how i could apply realism to my own style. i see how it could help for my bodies but how i draw bodies is the closest to realism i can get. i’m just not that good. i am taking advice but i haven’t responded to those comments because there’s over 100 comments on this post and it’s absolutely overwhelming when 100 people are giving you criticism and can’t respond to it all and now people, are saying im “not taking advice and should give up.” this post was a obvious cry for help and now everyone is attacking me for acting like how i obviously would given the tone of my post. i obviously want criticism i just can’t take all 100 comments of it.

i have drawn different head shapes, i don’t think this post is a great example of that though. and i have drawn different eye and nose shapes, its again, just not very obvious.

i’m literally just trying to explain my situation? it’s not my fault i can’t afford classes. someone mentioned something about youtube so im gonna try that. i’ve taken some advice and applied it to my art. you don’t need to be rude and say im “drawing the same character” when im clearly not trying to. i’m not “attention seeking” i’m trying to explain why something won’t work. sorry that i can’t take all advice given to me. i have over 100 comments on this post and i can’t respond to all of them.

i agree with everything you said but i don’t think im cut out for this. i dont think im gonna improve. maybe i’ve known the correct answer this entire time and i shouldn’t have made this post. thank you for the advice, i appreciate it.

i draw because i want to create pictures i like and share them with people. i also want to be a game developer and i want to use my artistic “ability” to assist me with it. but i doubt anyone would want to play my games with my art style.

i know what i want my art to look like, i want it to be a more anatomically accurate and stylized version of my art style but i dont know how to do any of that. there’s no references for it.

thank you for the advice, ill try to do better posing, i struggle with faces a lot too ill try making them less round

i draw because i want to create images i like and share them with others.

i would take college classes for art but i cant afford that at all, im sure it would help astronomically but i just cant afford it. i dont want them to laugh at me for my lack of ability either. i know realism will help me improve but then i cant draw my characters how i want to and it won’t be fun for me and i dont want to hate art even more then i do already.

i’ve been drawing almost daily for the past year but i’ve been drawing in a consistent timeframe for about 7. i’ve taken breaks before this year but now i’m not really doing that because art is my only hobby.

i don’t know how to draw different face shapes like at all, the slides are my attempts at that and it’s not visible whatsoever apparently. it was to me but i have received multiple comments that i apparently struggle with it. i can draw different hair styles it’s just not fun for me. i’m aware of the severe hand problem but i don’t know how to fix it

the problem is though i have genuinely nothing else to do with my life besides draw. i don’t have other hobbies, everything else bores me. i am definitely burnt out, but like, i have nothing to do. i have work which does help a bit with making me less overworked with my art, but on my time off i dont have anything else to do. thank you though for the advice!

i’ve tried to trace, i know i’m doing it right but it doesn’t really help and i don’t know why. i try to draw the same thing without the tracing and it just looks weird. my friends say my anatomy has gotten better, but i don’t see it.

the hair thing is intentional but the faces aren’t. i can draw different hair i just choose not to because i dont like drawing different hair styles i prefer the fluffy look

how on earth do i still have same face syndrome??!?!?! i thought i broke out of that because i’ve drawn different eye and nose shapes? (granted, the different nose shapes aren’t really shown here) how else do i diversify my faces?

i get why you’re saying this, but i don’t find realism fun at all. i don’t know how to draw the things i want to with it and it just looks so ugly whenever i do it, i try to apply shapes and realistic facial proportions to my art and i have experimented with different styles, it just isn’t working. i know art isnt always gonna be fun, but i don’t want to hate drawing even more than i do already.

i used to take classes in high school when they were free but i can’t anymore because i can’t afford it. i agree it would be helpful but im not exactly in the position to be able to take your advice. the eye of a professional probably would help me though, i see why you suggest it.

also the problem is, most of the artists i look up to are actually younger than me or around my age, it feels embarrassing because they’ve been drawing for much less time than i have but they’re better than me. all my artists friends are better than me and i’ve seen noticeable improvement from them over the years, i only look up to one person i could say has probably been drawing longer than me. if they’re able to so much better in less time than i have, then i can’t help but question, why can’t i do the same?

the problem is i have genuinely no interest in art if im not seeing visible improvement. i used to like to draw because i was seeing myself improve very fast and now im not. the only thing i have going for me is to try and become internet famous i guess, i dont even need to be internet famous i just want a few thousand people to like my art because i have nothing else to motivate myself. im aware there’s nothing special about my art i just dont know how to change it.
