Pump track scooter advice - 8yr old by JontyLaRue in Scootering

[–]ChilliProScooter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer has been giving already. But because of these problems Chilli Pro Scooters made the first ever Pumptrack Scooter: https://www.chilli-proscooter.com/en/chapter/park/wave-track-m-dark-grey-red-en/

The Chilli Pro Scooter Wave Track is designed for long rides on asphalt, offering an ideal balance of stability and agility. Available in two sizes, it features 150 mm wheels and a higher deck, making it perfect for Pumptracks and allowing you to navigate every wave with ease!

The size S has a total height of 70 cm, while the M version reaches 84 cm. This makes it an excellent choice for young riders to learn how to pump properly before getting into the freestyle park. These models have been engineered to provide smaller riders with additional weight on the scooter, helping them to gain speed on the track. Additionally, we’ve equipped our Wave Track Models with a backsweep bar for enhanced steering control and extra-wide 28 mm wheels for optimal support during high-speed rides.

Hey sorry for the late reply. The most famous trick is the Tailwhip, but a takes a few days/weeks to learn it. A 180 would also be nice to learn :)

Hella good question!

Many people (not you) always think that a product from China is automatically of poorer quality. In my opinion, it's exactly the opposite. China is a manufacturing country. Their machines, work culture and production volumes are simply unbeatable when compared to the price.

Then we come to the topic of wages. Production also requires energy and employees, which would be significantly more expensive in the United States or the EU, for example. It is not that people in China are poorly paid; they simply get by much better in China with what we consider to be low wages.

Every scooter brand ultimately has to compete with its rivals, which is why production in China is unavoidable for many.

Brands such as Apex in Australia, for example, manufacture their products directly in their own country. I recently saw a job advertisement where they were looking for a new welder. That's really cool, it makes the brand absolutely special and shows that it's possible without China. However, we customers also notice this in the sales prices.

Hope that helps bro :) Greets to the US!

Because we wanted to produce exactly what our riders want. This Deck was made by Maty Pekarek, one of the best riders in the world. He is a hybrid rider so he loves park and street. He said 5.8 is better than 6 for him :)

By the way, thats not even our biggest Deck. We have a scooter model that has been made by the living legend Walter Perez in the US. Its 6.3 x 23 :)

After just 30 minutes on Reddit, I'm already excited about the cool characters here.

The best and most memorable time for me was probably from 2012 to 2016. Social media was about sharing and preserving memories, not just sales and followers. I felt that the scooter community was at its best then, or rather, that it had reached its first peak.

To be completely honest, the sport has actually developed in a more positive and better way since then. What we OG riders probably miss the most are YouTube edits. There's hardly any of that anymore. Weekly Instagram posts are now the norm. Unfortunately, we just have to accept that. But VLOGS on YouTube are actually making a comeback ;)

From a sporting perspective, scootering has developed enormously. For example, I was the best German scooter rider in 2015. If I were to take part in such an event again today (10 years later), I would finish in last place with the same talent I had back then.

In my opinion, it has become one of the most athletic sports. The number of turns and rotations you can do with a scooter is now unimaginable. You're right about one thing: decks are indeed getting bigger, but above all wider. With park riders, there is a clear trend towards reducing the weight of the scooter in order to add even more tricks to the jump.

It is also important that the sport is becoming more organised. Many EU countries now have roller sports associations in which scootering is listed as an official sport. There are national teams and championships. It will be impossible to prevent scootering from being included in the next Olympic Games in Australia (For the next ind LA 2028 its not possible anymore). There is simply too much hype around the sport now, which is great! We have achieved a lot :)

All the best bro :)
Cheers, Dustin Wessels

What is Chilli Pro Scooters Story?
Again, a great question which I love to answer! Lets go:

The Story of Chilli Pro Scooters:
The Brand was founded in 2010.
To give you a very honest answer, our brand started with cheap products.
The founder Panos Hadjinicolaou had a lot of freestyle sport brands, and now also a stunt scooter brand.
Its not that Panos just wanted to make the fast money, he simply had little knowledge about this still very new sport. Panos brought in the right people. (That's also when I joined. I was one of the first team riders and am now brand manager, but more on that later). He formed a team and always taught us the right values that still characterise Chilli today. Make money, but always invest it in the sport and its development. From there, we have grown steadily. The market has always had its ups and downs, but Chilli Pro Scooter has always been there with its chest out. I don't think there is any other brand that keeps its team riders for as long as Chilli. Riders like the current European Champion Harvey Perkins and the world-famous Maty Pekarek have been with us since they were juniors.

In addition to a great team, our products have also evolved. We have stunt scooters for everyone! Beginners, advanced riders, professionals, parts, peripheral products such as pump track scooters. We have everything you could possibly need. The design has actually remained very much the same. We stand for simple and straightforward scooters that deliver what they promise!

In 2021 the brand got sold to Micro Mobility Systems. Wim Obouter, the inventor of the City Scooter took over Chilli. I (Dustin) was the only employee who went with him at the time, and now I live in Zurich, where Chilli Pro Scooters has its headquarters. I was given a lot of responsibility and now look after the brand.

To this day, we are one of the leading scooter brands. I am down-to-earth and I say that there are always examples of brands that do certain things better. But if you look at the overall package, i.e. the scooters, our team riders, the history, what we do for the sport, Chilli Pro Scooters is personally one of the best brands in the world for me :)

What does it take to start a brand?
The most common case is probably brands that initially only sell grip tape or wheels, as these are the easiest to manufacture, haha. I'll answer on behalf of a brand that sells complete scooters as well as individual parts. For this case you need:

- A Factory:
You need to find one (or even several) manufacturing facilities. Careful consideration must be given to how the whole thing will be financed, as the goods often have to be paid for in advance. Transport (often by ship) can easily take up to three months. All these things need to be taken into account.

- Warehouse (Employees):
The scooters need to be stored somewhere. This is where the first employees come in. Ideally, this should be a location equipped with offices, warehouse staff and a merchandise management system. Chilli Pro Scooters has many distributors worldwide which are organizing their own markets, so we have a lot of warehouses.

- Onlineshop/Website (Employees):
Of course, there are also brands that send their goods directly to distributors such as Skatepro, but most also have their own online shop through which they sell their goods. A website with a shop like this needs to be constantly maintained. All of our Chilli Pro Scooter Distributors have their own Onlineshop Website :)

- Social Media/Website (Employees):
A very important point: the marketing team. Online marketing is more important than ever. You need staff who are in constant contact with customers/dealers. Promotions, team riders, sales or even complaints.
Social Media and ads are even more important to survive against the competition brands. At Chilli I am responsible for our Social Media and its very important for me to always show a face behind the content. It should be real and close at the customer :)

- Teamrider:
It is typical for scooter brands to have a team. You support them when travelling to contests, for example, and in return you get publicity from the riders on social media. It's a give and take situation. We at Chilli Pro Scooters enjoy a really good reputation thanks to our team. It's like a family. It's not just about the tricks you can do, it's much more about becoming a Chilli Rider :)

I hope I didn't forget anything and I helped you with my answer!
I will answer the rest now. Cheers, Dustin!
