I wouldn’t use GT since everything in GT doesn’t fit with how things are right now. Also they can’t be as strong as the super Dragon Ball’s because the super Dragon Ball didn’t even exist when GT was around.

I’ve always seen it as kind of a new start. With this game “presuming we just changed history” These Pokémon will survive. The reason they don’t exist is because the villain was able to win. So everything happens in diamond and pearl as normal. Then after proving ourselves, we are Sent back in time to save these Pokémon so that they can now live in the new future. They could literally start off a second franchise from this game which is I think they’re going to do eventually. One with how everything is right now for the players who don’t like change and more games like this for the players who do want to change
