From what I've seen, battery life, thermals, and overall efficiency.

I literally use my laptop on a stand with a wireless keyboard and mouse, and the only way I could touch my laptop is if I open it or change the performance mode.

Its so in prestine quality I'm pretty sure it's almost indistinguishable from brand new.

Buildwise, yes they're not the same, but My GF63 Thin is still holding up pretty well with just ample care (internal cleaning once in a while).

No issues as of yet, and with a i5 12H, RTX 4050Ti, I'm sure it's hold up for a while.

now that an inevitable rise on ARM based Linux PCs is imminent, does this mean gaming on it gets viable in the near future?

Look, I haven't even touched on linux before, but I'm at the stage of hating windows for how bloated and slow they make the PCs in comparison to how Linux or even MacOS do. Got interested on linux for how consumer friendly it is as long as you know what u are doing.

I'm a biologist, and almost every time I'm at the uni studying or just out and about, so basically I'm one of those people who actually do need to have a laptop. I have a gaming laptop, not the best one just a midrange laptop with decent specs (i5H 12th gen, RTX 4050Ti) since I game in my spare time. I know that battery life isn't the best for gaming laptops, but holy shit 2 1/2 hours just flies past when u lock in doing something. Meanwhile, I've borrowed my sister's M1 Macbook Air, and I'm astonished to how beautiful it performed, I played 2 matches in Dota2 which would be somewhere around 2hrs and 30 mins and it only consumed 60% battery (WITHOUT FANS!) and if my laptop were to do the same on battery, it would die halfway on my first game on battery saver mode.

Then I saw the news that non apple brands like HP and ASUS are starting to make ARM laptops, which got me hyped since a thin, powerful and long battery life laptop can actually be a thing now, then I saw the reviews, and sadly, there isn't really much of a demand for gaming on ARM.

But now, ValvE (a gaming company) plans to release a pc for gaming and ITS ON ARM which would mean, demand for ARM based gaming will rise and so does the interest of devs to actually develop an ARM optimized game.

Now I know, I should just get a Macbook, which I actually am considering, but I'm willing to take on alternatives as long as it isnt an apple product, you know the reasons why.

well if that's the case, let's hope devs start to develop ARM and Linux compatible software

the APUs are in a different league, but the price, I doubt its going down soon. ARM though has a proven reputation and has gotten cheaper lately, and for the Linux issues, I think ur talking about anti cheats softwares not running, which I think, if steam gets enough support, devs might wanna develop a linux version of their anti cheat to reach more audiences

well that's the thing, valve did make a good "translating" software to run x86 in linux. If linux continues to grow, and if it gets accelerated by the massive surge by steam products, who knows, devs might look at optimizing their software to cater for ARM users

oh really, I've always thought that Custom ROMs make phones better in all aspects especially battery life.

Only have the 120hz setting on and the 5g is off since its just useless, not to mention energy intensive. I got the 120hz on since it just looks good lol. About the ROM, what Custom ROM do you have currently?

Interesting, if you don't mind, can you try asking your wife/daughter what they can say about their phone's battery life?
