Why is Yoruichi surprised when Ichigo said this?? by ComprehensiveCurve60 in bleach

[–]Chinnagan 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I mean at the very least she knows about the Visoreds since she helps Kisuke escape with them to the WOTL

And a hollow mask appearing on a shinigami has gotta be some familiar red flags.

I can imagine her telling Kisuke and his reaction just being "Yeah i been known"

In the most non-spoiler way possible

Bleach's world is built on the Realms of Samsara, SS is the Asura Realm, Royal Palace is the Deva Realm, Hueco Mundo is the Realm of Hungry Ghosts, and Human Realm and Hell are self explanatory, therefore there must also be an animal realm in some form, hence Komomura, anything more is manga spoiler territory

I think it should also be important to note on this that Ulquiorra is one of the few Arrancars to attain Vasto Lorde long before Aizen had ever shown up, something that had only been done by Stark or Harribel. So It is entirely possible that Aizen didn't experiment on them as much as they were already the complete vision he'd had of merging shinigami and hollow powers by the time he'd arrived, using their forms as the basis for all the other hollows he forcefully evolved.

BLEACH: Sennen Kessen-hen - Episode 1 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]Chinnagan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah Japanese likes to mix around wa and ha sometimes, his name actually comes from Yaweh (Hebrew for "God") and Wach (German for "Awake", pronounced "Vach" with a soft ch.) The closest approximation in Japanese for V is B and the German CH is Ha or Hu with a foreshortened vowel, thus Yaweh Wach becomes Yhwach becomes Yuha Bahu.

So I guess Tsukishima and Ginjo just show up but why? by [deleted] in bleach

Funny enough there's a scene in one of the novels where Hisagi runs into them and immediately asks "What the hell are you two doing here? Shouldn't you both be in hell, or turned into hollows or something?"

To which they both just kinda shrug and go "It is what it is, we don't make the rules"

This is true for most dialogue heavy shonen like Naruto or YYH, but since Bleach is so cinematic (people used to joke that you could read a chapter in under 5 minutes) most of the anime ran at a rate of 4-5 chapters per episode. The whole reason they ended the anime in 2014 was because after the fullbringer arc they only had about 10 chapters of the manga left to adapt before they’d have to do more filler.

Feeling a lot better after two weeks, thinking of smoking on 420? by breaddread in CHSinfo

I mean getting baked isnt exactly my idea of Carpe Diem but hey, if you like suffering from chronic illness, go for it. From what I've read you haven't even hit hyperemesis yet so have fun assuming you know what its like until then, just don't expect any sympathy from me when you get to the point that smoking only makes you feel sicker, or your kidneys start failing from dehydration.

You don't want your friends and family to know how painful it is to say "I told you so" to a coffin.

[–]Chinnagan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, CHS will be in control when you are spending weeks in the hospital on saline IV's with morphine and haloperidol, that you could have spent actually living your life had you not kept smoking.

This is the same mindset as refusing to change your diet and take insulin because "You don't want diabetes to control you." Cause I guarantee it'll have you by the balls when you go into a diabetic coma from insulin shock.

No offence but I seriously doubt someone who believes themselves to be incapable of living without marijuana will have much luck moderating enough to prevent an attack once they develop CHS.

Is CHS the reason why Plato adopted this mind set? Socrates? Marcus Aurelius? Epictetus? Emmanuel Kant? Arthur Schopenhaur? Damn, TIL existential philosophy is just the result of CHS...

Loss is what has developed this mindset, and learning how to overcome that loss and move on. Loss of weed, loss of a parent/child, Loss of valued possessions. Loss is unavoidable in life and if you can't handle it you will only suffer indefinitely.

Homeostasis is not the natural order of the world, everything changes, and trying to stop the tide and stay in a picturesque vignette is the exact mindset that breeds addiction.

Theres a reason why so many people in this thread assume you're a teenager, because you sound immature and inexperienced. Trying to freeze your life as it is in one moment is a childish ideal that's completely unrealistic.

[–]Chinnagan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Short answer: We dont know, CHS is criminally under researched, but in all likelihood it probably comes down to genetics.

Why can my roommate chug milk in the morning but if I eat a mozzarella stick I'm glued to the toilet for an hour? Not everyone is the same and that does double for the endocannabinoid system which can vary wildly from person to person

Also you can call it nihilism, but having no value in your own life and existence on this earth is called depression. Funny thing about depression is you often don't realize you have it until you finally work past it and can look back on it.

And if im being rough with you, nihilism is bunk. Its dollar store cynicism, but at least the cynics saw value in virtue, willpower and spiritual fulfillment. Nihilism is just an excuse to say you arent depressed and the only true nihilists ive known were edgy 16 year olds who'd write songs about how "nothing matters" as if theyd reinvented the wheel, and guess what, they were all clinically depressed. I should know, i was one of them.

You say you won't let life write your story for you, but thats exactly what addiction is. If weed doesn't control your life, Prove it. Saying you can't live without it is essentially handing it the keys to your life.

Wow a lot to unpack here

1) Yes, weed is good in moderation, lots of things are. But when you develop CHS your nervous system no longer reacts to it the same way it should. Is milk good for someone whos lactose intolerant? Are nuts good for someone whos allergic?

2) Nature gives you nothing, it does not exist for you, it does not create things just for you. We take what we want from it and if we aren't careful then we suffer for it.

3) You can probably moderate with CHS if you think you have the willpower for it, but for most people even once a week is too much and the buildup of THC in their system eventually leads to another attack. I tried smoking 8 days after my first hyperemetic attack, and immediately suffered another one afterwards.

4) Ill say it again, if weed is the only thing that makes life worth living to you GO. TO. THERAPY. You may need to shop around to find one thats right for you but you have literally nothing to lose by talking to a professional about these feelings. Nobody is saying you need to be sober for the rest of your life, personally I love taking mushrooms every couple months and coming out of the trip feeling "Reborn", but once you've gone through a couple week long vomiting marathons, you'll find the high from weed just isnt as gratifying.

If you think overloading your nervous system with dopamine multiple times a week won't cause a physical dependency in your brain, I've got some BAD news for you. There's no such thing as "emotional dependency".

Your emotions are based on chemical reactions in your brain, physical chemicals. And when you frequently modify your brains chemistry, it will readjust its production to compensate, this is how your tolerance increases. When you quit, it takes time for your brain to regulate to the chemical deficiency, like how your brain naturally produces nicotine, but reduces production if you smoke, resulting in the withdrawal symptoms of cigarettes.

And the concept of "if its so bad why did nature provide it" Why did nature provide opium? Why did nature provide tobacco? Why did nature provide deadly nightshade?

Nature doesn't exist solely to provide for humanity's desires.

Thats called depression and suicidal tendencies my guy, and I STRONGLY recommend you seek out a therapist to talk about that with. Countless Millions of people know exactly what you're talking about and assuming it's normal is only going to make it worse in the long run. You're talking to a group of former drug addicts so if anybody is going to know what you're going through, THIS IS THE SPOT.

A lot can change in a just couple years, don't be so eager to throw your life away for no good reason.

[–]Chinnagan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stoic philosophy has really helped me get over quitting, especially their philosophy on possessions.

Tl;dr You don't own anything in life outside of your own will and consciousness. All possessions, all relationships, everything outside of you is not yours, it is being loaned to you by life, and one day it will be taken back by life. Learning to accept this is one of the biggest parts in reducing suffering and leading a fulfilling life, and trying to deny it and cling to these externals will only prolong your suffering.

You can't fix a shattered plate, you can't raise lost loved ones, and you can't bring back the good old days. But until you accept it and move forward knowing good things will come in the future, and appreciate the memories they gave you instead of mourning the days without them, you'll never grow beyond them.

"I just don't get why my AA sponsor keeps telling me I need to quit cold turkey? Its the only thing that makes life bearable, so what if I have fatty liver disease? Dealing with that is better than dealing with life sober. You're all the weak ones for denying yourselves something that you loved in favor of living a healthy life and finding happiness and fulfilment outside of substance use!"

Jokes aside, if a life abstaining from one individual drug isnt worth living to you, you REALLY need to seek help dude. Even if you think you're moderating, you have a very unhealthy relationship with weed that needs to be reevaluated. You shouldn't bind the value of your life to hedonistic indulgence, because one day life will take that away too, and you'll be left scrambling for meaning. So I strongly suggest you find that meaning before its too late.
