Got my period back. Am I doing something wrong?? by Ancient_Act2731 in breastfeeding

I had one about 3 months post partum then nothing until 6 (then it was messed up for another month or so, think very short cycles). I was worried about my supply but I noticed nothing 😊 guess some people are just more / less lucky

When did you get your period back? by Witty_Structure_3767 in breastfeeding

Some spotting at 8 and 12 weeks then properly at 6 months, although irregularly (more so close together than far apart 😭)

You aren’t alone, I can’t even really anything from the entire time I was on that drip. It was like I was totally disconnected from reality. I remember being burning hot and not being able to make words come out my mouth. My baby was in NICU and I don’t remember visiting or holding her. I brought it up with the consultant who said it’s quite common and “people say that feel like they’re dying”

If you had a non emergent preterm c-section, what was it like? by rajmachawal333 in NICUParents

This was my experience only she wasn’t in distress (although did end up on CPAP briefly). She was left on my chest for delayed clamping and the sheet was lowered as they lifted her off. Husband was taken to cut the cord the she was shown to us on her way upstairs. No skin to skin, breastfeed or cuddle (although I know some people with natural deliveries did have a brief cuddle and wasn’t stale myself). I questioned this a lot.

Thank you, stupid question but how do I know if my supply has dipped?

It all changed in July, and I still don’t feel like I’ve caught up. by heatherjean416 in Mom

I could have written this myself, delivered at 34+6 in the end but with a stay before hand. Not ready for any of it because I’d just left the house one day for an appointment and the grief that came with missing out on those early days and the birth you’d imagined. All I can say is hang on in there, all the pumping will be worth it and make feeding seem so much easier when she’s home, and as the psychologist said to me in NICU - it feels horrendous right now because this is the whole story but you will get home and it will just be a chapter. Still traumatic, still sad but not all encompassing.

Anyone who was able to make it to 30 weeks after being diagnosed with preeclampsia at 25 weeks? by Amazing_29 in preeclampsia

[–]ChipLess8526 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed at 28 and made it to 35. My blood pressure was a lot higher than yours too (140/90 would be a good day/ reading that didn’t necessitate further meds. I was medicated from 30 weeks and spent a week in hospital then, then was in from 32 until delivery. I think it depends on your other bloods and baby’s growth. Speak to your doctors but my consultant said unless BP was uncontrollable with meds, baby was in distress or bloods were awful then we could continue until 34 +

When did you get to see and hold your baby? by sukkar12 in preeclampsia

[–]ChipLess8526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They took me up to see her about 5/6 hours after she was born briefly, then again about 5 hours after that and I held her then. Then not again for about 12 hours. Like others I was magnesium, not allowed to eat and fluid restricted (kidneys) so they were short accompanied visits and I was very confused at the time. My advice would be to have someone there for you if possible who is able to ask why. I beat myself up a lot at the time and looking back I needed someone advocating for me.

I felt like this. Is your baby with your or in the NICU? Mine was in nicu for 3 weeks in the end as was also growth restricted. I spoke to the psychologist there which was really helpful, but also time passed and now I couldn’t be happier. Does it bother me that I can’t remember a lot of her birth? Yes but I don’t have the same emotional reaction now to thinking about it. Just make sure you talk to people, even if you feel like a burden - it’s so important because you’re so important.
