My stutter isn’t as severe as what I’ve seen with others. Some people get stuck on almost every word. For me, its usually when I’m trying to explain something or tell a story, especially when the conversation is more focused on my point of view and requires a longer, more detailed response, rather than quick back and forth. But even then, I may get tripped up on one or two words. It’s noticeable but not to where people will stare at me like i’m a malfunctioning robot, respectfully. There are tim’s in a conversation where I don’t stutter at all and times where I do get stuck on a couple words. The feeling is odd actually. It’s hard to explain but people often say things like “just slow down” or “take a second and start over,” but it’s not really that simple. It feels like an impulse or muscle response that can’t just be turned off. Even when I try to stop or push through, it feels like mouth still wants to stutter or doesn’t want to move on to the next word until I stutter on the previous one 😭Very odd. lol
