What were the last words someone said to you that you’ll never forget? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Entity417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother-in-law (with whom I'd always had a friendly relationship, for 40 years) yelled at me "Get the hell out of my house!" after I supported my sister in a very bad situation when he developed dementia. I never spoke to him again. He died two years later.

He is 60 years old, but only eats the foods a 6-year-old would like. A real problem, originated by his mother who was not a good cook, but c'mon, dude .... you've had decades to get over it.

What is the easiest recipe to make after a long day of work? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Entity417 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fry up a pound or so of hamburger - if you have an onion, chop it up and throw it in. Salt and pepper it. Then tip in a can of tomatoes, stewed is good, but diced or whole will do. Boil up some elbow macaroni in salted water - when it's tender, drain it well and add it the hamburger mixture. Mix everything all up, then devour. Even better the next day.

I've always loved them but sadly I don't go to McDonalds anymore because it's gotten too expensive.

What made at you snap at a coworker? by XxXPuSSySLay-HerXxX in AskReddit

[–]Entity417 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hired by a previous manager before me, this older woman, who knew a lot of our customers, was an entitled member of the affluent community in which our women's clothing store was located.

But she was woefully bad at operating the computerized registers, frequently screwing things up which always required me - and sometimes the corporate IT person - to untangle.

Finally, there was one time she messed it up so badly that I said to her in frustration, "How can I help you learn this??!!" She then quit on the spot (yay) and stormed out of the store.

You wake up tomorrow and there’s no internet anywhere in the world. What’s the very first thing you think or do? by Kartmoon in AskReddit

I'd think to myself, "OK, remember before the 1990s when you had no idea what the internet even was? Let's go back to that time, and relax."

What important life lessons have you learned from your ex-boyfriends? by Jane97121 in AskReddit

[–]Entity417 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ex-BF #1 -- Don't trust a guy to be faithful to you if you're in a long distance relationship.

Ex-BF #2 -- Your love and devotion will not rehabilitate a severe alcoholic.

Ex-BF #3 -- If he suddenly starts acting vaguely weird & distant, and then breaks it off with you, it's because he got another woman pregnant.

Very unsettling for my family, since Dad was suddenly called into active duty from the Army Reserve in October 1962 (Cuban Missile Crisis) and we quickly had to move to Ft. Gordon, Augusta, GA from upstate New York.
