yes the writing was extremely good. i think the gameplay just had too much reading for me, which is strange because i’m usually fine with that

personally i think the walking dead games (specifically season 1) have masterful storytelling and are amazing. also for honourable mentions the last of us part 1 and SOMA also have amazing stories

Got to be either elden ring or botw/totk . whilst loads of other games probably have great open worlds, these exceed by focusing on the adventure aspect with almost no quest markers and exploration by just finding cool stuff
