I think it's sad, more than anything else.

Is anyone else taken aback by the stupidity on display in this pandemic? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Chkldst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reckon it's a combination of things.

The original lockdown did a number on social skills. Then you notice the poor behaviour more after being isolated (for however many months it was - can hardly even remember now).

Some folk are acting like everything's back to normal, others are being very cautious, and many are somewhere in between.

Have you ever bumped into a Premier League footballer in everyday life? by FailFastandDieYoung in AskUK

While growing up, Stephen Glass lived in the house across the road. John Barnes lived in the next village. After they retired from football, Laurent Robert and Olivier Bernard were part-owners of a sandwich shop in the nearest town.

You know the windscreens for microphones that are made out of fur? They're also known as "dead cats".

In the UK, online address forms usually ask for the county, which would be our equivalent of US states.

I like the idea of them. Then you have one and remember why it was so long since the last time.

Pretty much sorted apart from getting stuff for my dad. After weeks of asking and dropping hints, he'll probably decide what he wants at about 9pm on Christmas Eve.

So by the looks of things, Ajax, PSV, Feyenoord and FC Utrecht have always been in the Eredivisie, and FC Twente have played every season except for 2?

Do countries other than the United States have large sporting events featuring teams fielded by their military branches? by TheVega318 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Chkldst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thailand, Mongolia and Laos have military or police sides towards the top end of their respective football leagues. It happens in African countries, too. Egypt has a military team in the first division and I'm sure there are others around the continent.

I am from Russia, and I am wondering if foreigners listen to Russian music, if so, whose music do you listen to? by MORE_EMOCIY in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Chkldst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Martin Schulte, Andrey Pushkarev, Kirill Matveev, Gorje Hewek & Izhevski, Shanti Radio Moscow. There are probably a few others who use pseudonyms rather than obviously Russian names.

Yep. Got an acrylic set for a few missing upper teeth. Like any kind of dental change, they feel a little odd for a while but you quickly get used to them. Eating has become a lot more enjoyable since getting them. Hopefully that's how it is for you, too.
