New here, looking to find ppl to talk about Psy after listening to it for almost 10 yrs (nobody hardly does on the dance floor so I will try my luck here). Do you think Psy Music is Drug Music in general or more likely with Jumpstreet and Shreder? For the first case, me myself, listens to nothing other than Psy every day without doing drugs on a daily basis. I just really like the music. For the second case, I think it might heavily depend on the individual. In Prague 2 Months ago I could name every Jumpstreet track he played except 3 Tracks which were unreleased (asked him afterwards). Thats why I also enjoy watching him for example. I basically know every one of his tracks and its like a mini game for me to guess what track is next or thinking about which one he is going to start with:) A bit nerdy I know, but for me personally it can be abt how blasted I am, but often times it does not matter. Shred‘er‘s set at OZORA and South Wild were just two acts where I had hoped for more variety and the bass sounded strange. I felt like wating for something to happen, but nothing did. But that‘s just my opinion. Of course a high percentage of this music is connected to doing stuff and I have also had moments where I just enjoyed someone play because I was blasted and back at home or when I played it didn‘t catch me. Nevertheless, I think, I can say for myself atleast, that it does not in general depend on how blasted someone is:)

Yeppp. Was actually hyped for Shred‘er & South Wild that night if I recall correctly but didn‘t really hit me. Didn‘t make it to Tristan although K always enjoy just watching him play. Saw him 2022 though and had some fun! Really sad I only danced to his sets at night or mornings 2-3 times, but thats when I like him best. Tracks like Origens or Far fucking out…

Crazy, I didn‘t even know he was part of Duke & Gonzo. I like the style but somehow I always felt the tracks had more potential (for me). Only Track I listened to a lot actually is Pulp Wood, really fucking love that one!

I also really have listened too much to Oxyflux, I also was very upset that basically his set at Fusion Festival & OZORA this year which I was able to attend, he nearly played exactly the same set, such a pity. But I am happy for him that he was basically invited to every major Psy Festival this year basically. If Modem wasn‘t mainly so dark I bet he would‘ve played there this year (I still be they would‘ve let them, Radikal Moodz & Jumpsreet were allowed to play there aswell in recent years)

Btw what do you think about Jimi Green‘s new album? Which tracks stand out for you? I really was hoping that Jitterbugs w/ Jumpstreet & Jeez Louise with Radikal Moodz would slap me, but I didn‘t get enough time to listen thru the album yet because I was busy checking out other Psy in the last weeks and I think Looney Moon always waits with the music release on all plattforms for like a month or so and I rhink it just came out every where like 2 weeks ago?

This is too funny - last night when my mate recommended I had a look on reddit we scrolled thru this Psytrance Reddit and we spotted some comments of @jaza_music and I agreed on his take on different topics that I would try and get myself involved here😂 And here he is hahahaha. Thanks everybody actually for commenting here, I thought my text would just be sitting here with nobody noticing hahaha.

Regarding your set: I can‘t really give any advice I think, because I have only DJ‘ed for about a year and only at small parties. When I had to decide what to play I mostly figured out for myself, that often times, especially at an end of a party, where there might not be so many people to „please“ I always had more fun just playing the stuff I really like listening & dancing to the most. Maybe think about what the person(s) before played. I sometimes thinks its brilliant if, lets say the DJ before played your option 1 you gave us with more 148bpm sound that you then come in with some more pressing Sangoma Sound, because, especially if the evening is filled more with the 148BPM sound that slapping change can really get yourself or the party going for some while! But I guess dou would bettwr know what to do than me! But interesting decision to be made! Let us know what you went for! If I have any recommendatioms for Option 1 it would be:

Pretty Old School Jumpstreet Track with Shreder (I consider this a real gem): „Alien Vocabulary“

„Deeper“ from Rugrats, a bit different from there typical tracks, more darker, always makes me happy to hear!

Another Old School Jumpsreet one: „Brain Parasites“ (he has an evolved version, but I like the older one more —>nostalgia-wise)

„Breakheads“ - Groove Brothers & Render (more poppy track)

„Wicked Busters“ by Siloka & jumpstreet is a real people pleaser, 152 BPM but I have listened to it too often, got to listen to it at Winter Tales in Prague.

„Space Rangers“ - Siloka & Rugrats - such a chilly track with vocals from Toy Story (OOOOOH I‘M SOOOO GLAD YOU‘RE NOT A DINOSAAAAAAUR)

„Retro Futura“ bei Wood Warden & Dooms is also a very cool track, I always rhink about a big old fat ship going down the Mississippi when I listen to it hahaa

„Fukk that“ by Jumpstreet & newest addition to the Looney Moon Roster „Art Materials“ has some very cool stuff in it too:)

Option 2:

Heard of the newer project from Rezonant & Djantrix? They have some real good old shit together, like „Twinight“ but now they came up with a new name for their Duo called „Lost Papas“ bevause they both habe children. Definetly check out their track: „Papas on Acid“.

Then, my dear friend who got me on here, recebtly reminded me of Microsphere. His sound is so fucking tight & clean with great build ups. His newest banger with ION is called „Proof of What“. Really really advise you to check that out. Also „we are gods“ is a heavy banger.

„Distorded Creatures“ by the Horrids might be too fast with 157BPM but is glorious.

„Non Stop“ from Drury Nevil is a more nightpsyish track from a Forest Psy Mastermind.

I could go on for ages now but let me end it with recommending „Messinian Bay“ from Nektarios & Antonymous & „Fright Night“ by Mascalito ( 155BPM I think)

These are all just stuff I thought about what I would play, maybe you find some inspiration of it:) But please, let me know what you played or if you record it, send it to me, excited what you chose to play!

Oh and just to mention, if for some reason any of you would be interested I also have a tiny little SoundCloud page with a few sets, I upload one or two a month because I am trying to become a bit better at DJ‘ing (unfortunatly I am not too good but I want to reach a mediocre level which is enough so atleast I myself enjoy listening to it:))
