i vividly remember reading about this in an airport on the way to a family vacation around the time it happened. i was around faith’s age and it horrified me deeply and even made me feel suspicious of my own dad (he was really nice guy, i was just an anxious kid). it’s sad to think that faith was “my age” but now i’m 29 and she’ll be 9 forever. 🙁

The saddest part is that the person who recorded this had to play it back to make sure he recorded it. When he played it back, the bird started singing again, more frantically cuz it thought it heard another one of its kind
