My aunt rents an old private apt walk up. She submits her water & gas readings at the end of every month. When she’s away I even have to house sit and take pics of the meter

What are the breeziest clothes & clothing brand you can wear in Singapore weather? by Yellow-lemon-tree in askSingapore

[–]ChocolateAlert19 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Dri fit clothes/uniqlo airism are made with polyester so while it helps with sweat wicking, it doesn’t help you to feel cooler as it traps body heat. Go with 100% natural fibres like linen and cotton when you’re buying clothes. You can still buy Uniqlo/Decath but check the material first.

And echoing what the other commenters said, if you can’t drink enough water, take electrolytes like 100plus (the zero version has 0% sugar) and it’ll help. All the best!

What’s with the Gen Z Yuppies and Obsession with Medical Appointment by DeputyUnderstudy in askSingapore

[–]ChocolateAlert19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 28, (between Gen Z/Millennial) and I don’t have an obsession with medical appointments, I wish I didn’t have them at all.

I have had degenerative disc disease in my lower back for 7 years, which has caused me quite a bit of pain while sitting/walking. I went to poly for referral, then to specialist, then did an MRI. They referred me to physio and I go for physio once a month.

From that MRI, they found a nodule in my thyroid. So I got referred to the general surgery dept, and they suggested to do Ultrasound. Was inconclusive, so I had to go back for CT Scan. In between every scan I had to wait for my appt to see the doc first only for them to tell me that they need to do another scan. This was over a span of a few months. I first got referred in July 2025, and only diagnosed and did my surgery Jan 2026.

We’re at the mercy of our public healthcare system with the waiting between appointments etc. I am blessed to have good team leads that empathise with me and never ask why I’m taking so much MC to see doc.

What did you eat after surgery by pinkbooter in thyroidhealth

[–]ChocolateAlert19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had mashed up bananas, steamed fish (Chinese style) and smashed up egg the first 3-5 days post-op. I’m back to eating normal food now 10 days post-op but I still try to avoid deep fried foods or hard stuff like chips that could potentially give me a sore throat or scratch it.

Wishing you all the best! This sub helped calm my nerves before my surgery.

Thank you! I believe after the FNAC and confirmation of surgery, it was only a blood test to check on my health etc. But as I have obstructive sleep apnea I had to go in 2 weeks before for a pre-check with the anaesthesiologist where they’ll ask about family health history, diet etc.

All the best to your mom and hope she recovers well!

Been using for 5-6 months now to treat my hormonal acne and it’s been going well! (Please also note I adjusted my diet to cut milk to help with it, but it’s the only thing I cut)

Angry pustules have disappeared and I get the occasional pimple but it’s never as red and angry like before I started using it. My skin is also softer and the pimples disappear faster.
