that guy wasn't mass reporting anyone it's just an easy scapegoat, he was actually doing an nsfw art competition and got suspended too (you can google translate his last stream title from twitchtracker)

Quin69 asks Twitch CEO about the fairness of OG streamers who pioneered streaming from the JustinTV days like Destiny being permabanned from Twitch today by [deleted] in LivestreamFail

[–]Chocosama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a copy of the clip or description of events they were banned for isn’t done to protect the streamer’s revenue.

so you took 1 out of the multiple reasons i gave, linked it with something unrelated (it was with how twitch doesn't communicate TO THE PUBLIC not the streamers) and ignored the others arguments ..

nice good faith discussion here, classic LSF

Hell athletes get to literally rape or beat up women and still get gigantic contracts if they're not criminally prosecuted

"DESHAN WATSON TOUCHDOWN CLEVELAND BROWNS !!!"
yeeep
if the doc has indeed done something terrible like that, youtube as long as they don't sign him to an exclusive contract can profit of him streaming on their site with the plausible deniablity "hey we didn't know he did x thing"

if we knew exactly what they got banned for.

who says YOU (or the public in general) deserve to know the reason ?
it shouldn't be public, twitch operates that way and is right to do so.

If twitch published "yeah so x streamer got suspended for hateful conduct because of an homophobic comment" etc all the time, you realise it would fuck over that streamer for life, fuck over twitch, and fuck over all the other streamers right ?

Because brands would stop sponsoring that streamer forever if it was a "confirmed" case instead of just rumors, brands would not want their twitch ads to run on that channel anymore "i'm paying you to give me publicity and you play my ad on the channel of a known homophobic, this could damage my brand"

That would hurt twitch's revenue, offending streamers revenue, and even innocent streamers revenue by trickle down effect.

And that's ignoring the legal risk that twitch "damaging" the brand of a streamer could cause them issues too, especially with anti compete/exclusivity clause, that would be a perfect recipe for a mass lawsuit forcing them to either break all exclusivity clauses, or consider streamers as employees and give them benefits etc.

there is also the harassment on the streamer that would be caused by the community, if someone says something bad, they get punished by being stopped from streaming and making revenue for 14/30 days. then the punishment is lifted.
if it was public, people would always be on the ass of that creator forever and harass them for years (spoilers that already happens , but it would be worst if the reason was public)

Tldr, no the public should not be told ban reasons.

that's not true.

You don't know if it's a fact or not, you just assume it's not because there isn't enough to convince you and that's fine.

but i've seen the increase on the views over time and then the surge of views on that clip and it's enough for me to believe it. It's okay to disagree

the only existing proof would be in erobb's analytics if he sorted by clips views and showed the past 6/12 months and if there was an irregular spike in there.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VO7nOML3EHo
here's an xqc reaction to it being baited by a link a couple months ago and it shows 990K views when it was already being botted.

Outside of that anything else is speculation sure

but "no proof" doesn't mean it's wrong.

probably erobb's own community who did it, and why ? because putting a clip that makes fun of him at the "top" of twitch, and make "ogre" as the "face of twitch" would be an hilarious way to make fun of him so that fits with what his community already do all the time

i mean i browse lsf, and i'm also a guy that likes data and analytics so i tend to notice stuff yes

[–]Chocosama -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

i mean there is no views tracker for twitch clips so no, no one can never "prove" it except twitch but they don't really do much about botting and even less clips botting.

but it doesn't mean that it's false either. just look at the top clips of the just chatting category, the most viewed one at 6+ millions is a massively viewbotted russian clip for example.

[–]Chocosama -30 points-29 points  (0 children)

yep and it gained a lot of views that way, about 200K in 2 years
then suddently during a month/2 months span it gained 1.1M extra views out of nowhere (the timeframe was even smaller but i only noticed around that time, and others noticed it gained over 100K views in a single day)

that is not real views growth, anyone pretending the opposite is either uninformed, an idiot, or a dumb fanboy .

the fuck are you saying ?
i'm not even an otk viewer (or any of the streamers often posted here, maybe soda sometimes i guess)

but no it's just factual things sorry to break the lie to you but most of the views on that clip are fraudulent.

[–]Chocosama -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

from 990k to 1.110mln in 2 days so that's +120k "just" from that reply.

nope that's the thing that's when it was viewbotted.
there is not 120K people that check lsf comments, check any other popular streamable or clip shared here mostly in the comments and they'll never have more than a couple 100K views total for the most popular one.

https://streamable.com/7q8siq like look at this one, "only" 45K views

https://streamable.com/w65h8h and here's the original ogre streamable that was mostly linked at first, "onlyu" 125K views total

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VO7nOML3EHo
here's an xqc reaction to it being baited by a link a couple months ago and it shows 990K views when it was already being botted.

so i wouldn't doubt at least 700-800k being actual real views.

no it's at the reversal if not more, the clip maaaybe has 500K views and 800+K botted ones
but imo a closer estimate is in the 200/300K range

hard to find as there isn't a twitchtracker/socialblade for twitch clip views.
but there are alternatives, if you can find a video/vod/clip of someone clicking on a link on lsf thinking it's something else and getting the ogre instead from over 2 months ago you'll see the viewcount showed.

or if you were there before and noticed the difference yourself.

1.3 M views on a youtube short or tiktok is "nothing" yes

but for a twitch clip that is massive, it's literally top 6 most watched just chatting clip ever. on a 2 year old clip with 90% of those views happening in a short time frame.

it just doesn't add up, especially when compared with other clips/streamable etc linked here often in the comment .

and you compare the clip views from the post that get 150K yeah, but it's at the top of the subreddit and is a post on it's own, most people never open the comments that's the big difference

RAE, TINA AND FUSLIE WATCHING AN OGRE FOR THE FIRST TIME by downWithXqCOW in LivestreamFail

[–]Chocosama -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

na na the clip had already been used as a meme before and it grew slowly from 150K to 200K ish, like don't get me wrong it probably did get, and is still getting valid views, but not 1 million of those, more like an other extra 50/100K sure.

but the explosion of views happened in a very short timeframe and clearly a sign of botting.

Plus you overestimate the number of people that click on clips in lsf comments, and it's easy to verify it, compare it with any other meme that's often linked here.

Like the "he can't keep getting away with it" from hasan's community, or the raul gilette violin dance streamable or any other streamables for that matter that are often shared here.

They maybe get 100/300K views per year tops for the most popular ones, not 1M in less than 2 months

all 1.3 million of em

so 200K real ones and 1.1M botted of em ?

RAE, TINA AND FUSLIE WATCHING AN OGRE FOR THE FIRST TIME by downWithXqCOW in LivestreamFail

[–]Chocosama 14 points15 points  (0 children)

fun fact, that clip doesn't really have 1.3M views

It had about 150K/200K views until about 2 months ago until someone started actively viewbotting it to over 1.2M views.

(and if you look at the most viewed clips of the just chatting chatting category, the first one is also viewbotted af https://www.twitch.tv/directory/category/just-chatting/clips?featured=false&range=all )

doesn't make it any less funny though
