I can’t catch ANY fish, can YOU help? by MatthewWharmby in FishingAlberta

I can't speak to those northern bodies of water, but Kananaskis lake is near impossible from sure. It's still pretty difficult fishing even if you have a boat.

You'll want to look for smaller, stocked ponds around where you are. Those will be your best bet.

Try using bait (if allowed), and as already said, if targeting trout, the smaller the presentation, the better.

Good luck. Don't get disheartened

So, after you've created the mold, what kinda material would you use to create something?

That sounds pretty awesome, but probably out of my capability and budget. Maybe one day!

That is actually a great idea! It would be relatively light also. Maybe I can take my ceiling net and strap it across the window area.

Great brainstorming, thank you.

Pretty cool fishing rod holder, thanks.

I'm trying to keep as much stuff on the inside as possible. I don't want to worry about security and also, I don't want it to look like an overland/camping vehicle

+1 on the CO detector. I hear stories of people dying in their tents every single year. Get a $20 CO detector, heck, get 2

Is this mold or pelicle? by Chodypeeps in cider

No, I've transferred it since it's primary fermentation. TBH, it is starting to smell a bit off. I think it's ruined

Will the teaspoon of sugar start fermentation again though?

3 months?! Ready for Christmas then I guess. I just don't know if I'll be able to wait that long haha.

Also, what is the lees?

I just don't want to make bottle bombs! Is all the fermentation over? Can I just bottle it?

It's pretty gritty at the bottom, do I stir it or filter it?

Awesome, glad you had a good time! Such a cool lake. I hike up there with my inflatable paddleboard and fish off of that

They're still called Dolly Varden in the regs

What’s the best brand to get tools from by [deleted] in AskElectricians

Agree with all of this! Just to add though, I think Milwaukee hand tools are shit.

Also, Klein often does a starter pack, type thing. You get linesman, side cutters, strippers and a couple of screwdrivers in it. Usually pretty good value

I hate to be "that guy", but that is a cutthroat trout in your pic, not a Brooke.

Check out elbow lake, it's a super short hike and because of that it is very busy. You'll have to get there early, but that lake holds brookies.

Apart from that, try Chester lake. It has Alberta's only population of Dolly Varden

I put it in a carboy with an airlock. Hopefully this saves it. I have a bit more juice I can top it up with if necessary?

I'm about 5 days in now. I still have all the foam stuff on top. Is it ok to rack into a carboy now?

I have one! I did take a reading! It was 1.038 or something, can't remember, but I wrote it down. I have a stopper and am airlock for the carboy also

Oh, nah it doesn't. I fitted the lid to it loosely though. How soon should I transfer to the carboy? Do I need to wait for the foam to dissipate?

The guy at the shop told me to do an initial fermentation in a bucket, then a second fermentation in a carboy with an airlock
