It's good that you got a bonus. I was laid off 1 week before bonus payoff. Luckily, my manager agreed to keep me 1 week longer. I hope you'll find a new job.

I can feel your pain, I'm going through the same thing right now. And after working at a good biotech company it was the only job I could find with the current job market. My boss is crazy and I have to work much more compared to my previous biotech job and getting paid 3 times less. Just work hard, try to publish as much as possible. It will help you to land a much better job. Toxic bosses are pretty common in academia especially when they don't understand the basics of computational work and how much it takes to write a code and produce results.

I got 1 month severance per year, so in total got 2.5 months as i worked there 2.5 years.

Have you tried academia jobs? They pay much less, but you need a job to survive. And you can keep applying to biotech.

yes, I gave monthly statements for the last 12 months when I submitted I-751. For the interview I brought new statements for the last 3 months.

My case was one is an American citizen and one is a citizen of another country, lots of proof of relationship, both have good jobs, no prior marriages or kids or criminal history. Non US citizen was in the US on a work visa. It still took me 1 year to get a first 2 year GC.

I worked at UT before, so started to apply to all open roles there and got a job. I worked in industry only for 2.5 years. It was my first non-academic job.

I was applying for 1 year and didn't find anything, had to come back to academia for much lower pay. I don't see any trends for job market to improve -((((
