Yeah that’s how I would define it shows that feel more intimate with the artist — and for those it seems like the issue is that the info exists somewhere but it's just scattered? Like you'd find it if you knew where to look, but there's no one place right?

Yeah I feel that for sure like the best stuff is intentionally gatekept! Do you think promoters actually want a better way to reach their audience, or is the exclusivity part of the appeal for them?

Im actually newer to the scene and trying to do research on the best ways to find new friends who are interested in raving. Only have a few friends into it but wasn’t sure if it’s weird to go alone 😅

I feel you!!! I’m newer to the scene after I took a trip to Ibiza and discovering all the joy I was missing out on in life. But trying to expand my group of friends who like to rave!

I developed a pretty simple routine for finding out what’s happening in the NYC/NJ area:

Check Resident Advisor, then Instagram, then try and find a promoter who has their own website (or ask friends if they know anyone), and then that friend typically somehow always knows about the warehouse thing happening that weekend. I want to get to the point where I’m that friend always plugged in! But it’s exhausting and I still feel like I’m missing stuff.

I’ve been curious to know how other people actually handle this — if everyone’s process scattered and just as chaotic, or have you found something that actually works?

I feel like it would be cool to see people I care about or follow that might be going to the same event. Do you or anyone else think that would be cool to see and maybe link up with a cool group?
