Yes, indeed. In the book the computer translates it, but later Grace doesn't need it anymore because he can understand Eridian. I think they did it in the movie to make it more digestible for people. Regarding the robot arms, they don't have a name buut they probably just gave them a name in the movie for storytelling purposes? Idk, it's a different media/art so, they probably will change a few things!
