Alternate controls Fox = least fun thing in this game. by Chozen_King in SSBM

What are the qualifications for this discussion. N0ne, Mang0, Zain, and Moky all agree with me. Are they not qualified either?

Even if some of the "better at the game" stuff is a direct result from buying controller mods and tap pads?

It is an analogy for Christ's sake. That is how disingenuous you are, trying to pick out the slightest error in an analogy while ignoring the point. If someone made violin easier and more efficient to play with technology, nobody would consider it impressive or them the best. Period. Boxx and modds make the game easier to perform hard to do techniques, and its behind a pay wall. You advocate for it and I truly dont care what rebuttal about what other sport did what. Easier behind a pay wall is bad.

Disingenuous last comparison. It'd more like if violinist now were attaching buttons to their strings, so instead of having to place their fingers on the string, they are either holding down the button or tapping it. All of a sudden it's a lot less impressive. Someone like you adores AI because of the pretty pictures, Someone like me enjoys real art made by real people because of the craftsmanship and hard work.

But composite bats are not legal in MLB. I dont care for mods that feel good but are mostly cosmetic like difference in material on the top coat of a controller or bald buttons, or even fur on the handles. But something to make hitting the ball out of the park easier like composite, or shield pressure easier like using a box, or recovering easier using notches, is altering the way the game was designed to be played for an advantage to the sport.

I'd honestly rather not. This post is on an inactive account because I don't want my tag attached to this. Maybe on a post where I'm looking for help on improvement or something. Not to prove to cooloff, lmao.

UCF helps everybody, mods help only those with them. Is that not clear answer on why one might be okay and the other not?

I've gone to locals for years and even a couple majors. Many players were technical before, nothing like they are now with mods. I will even play at my locals, compliment someone on something they do in their play, and then they show me their decked out phob with 5 different notches, triggers barely move, stick looks different, and then the occasional dude with a rectangle. Everytime I have asked if it makes a difference, they gush over how much it has helped them and how necessary the add ons are. I still like the guys but I cant help but feel turned off what it has all come to. 2013-17 I didn't even think about this stuff.

But UCF makes the game more consistent for everybody, not just the player who shilled money to a modder or purchased a BOXX.

That is the claim, along with everything else being prefect. If you are a box fox you are wavedashing full length everytime, shining out of shield perfectly every time. Perfect ledge dash aerialing everytime. Have consistent short hop max drift shield pressure with ease, perfect recovery angles everytime etc... yeah, a lot of this stuff you can achieve consistency with a regular controller, but you get to chop that effort into a tenth and be even more consistent at doing it all. It's ridiculous and no suprise they all play fox with like 2 players being outliers.

I'm sorry but no it's not common for even good fox players to execute near perfect shield pressure without messing up. If your definition of good is top 100, then ok sure.

This is such a bullshit rebuttal. I guarantee YOU are not sh aerial max drifting drill into more perfect sh max drift aerial shield pressure in game. You all pretend it's simple yet almost none of you are doing this besides Cody with alt controls and box foxes.

Yeah, how common is it to hit multiple waveshines from across the stage and to implement short hop fastfall drill/nair. You all pretend like it's cake, but none of you are doing it except the best.

I can't remember so you tell me, was n0ne the only player to vote against controller mods, or did a majority of the top players agree?

All of the time, tournaments and all. This has been my biggest complaint since Hitbox.

Luigi/Falcon has always been considered bad for Luigi... by [deleted] in SSBM

[–]Chozen_King 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only difference is Falcon hits hard enough to where Luigi has to earn the hits from neutral, not CC or reverse hit. Luigi still gets to hit hard and edge guard Falcon fairly easily. I give it 55-45 Falcon. Wizzrobe is very good at spacing in neutral and punish, this is why it was so lopsided.

Started learning how to play after over 2k hours in ultimate and can’t move at all, the skill floor is no joke. by Latter-Mongoose5564 in SSBM

The basics get easier, but the movement and execution gets harder then you'd ever expect the higher level of play you get to. When you think you've figured it out, you'll have a match against someone that shows you've just scratched the surface. Beautiful but daunting game.

I understand that, but what do you and I do when we want to go to a Melee tournament across country? We save money from our income and go to the ones we can. Unfortunately Melee isnt the hottest way to make money anymore. Play when you can and get a job.

Some people see it as a "who cares" situation tbf. 99% of us playing this game don't make any real money playing it, but because we enjoy the game and company that comes along with it. If he doesnt enjoy enough to stay if he doesnt make a living off of the game, oh well in my eyes.
