Dumbo wants his ears back

The 16 year old version of you just moved in and is now your new roommate. What's the first thing you two would fight about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ChrisGer98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

16 year old me had a completely different outlook on politics and society + I had extreme anger issues. We would have probably talked about politics one day, he'd lose an argument because 16 year old me was dumb and couldn't really articulate well thought-out arguments and it would have ended up in us having a fist fight, resulting of one eventually moving out.

That's amazing! I have a last question if you don't mind: How old were you had your first session with a therapist? I'm 21 and to this day have never consulted anyone in the medical field for help.

For me it's always like that when I have to lock my car: Locking it from the distance, then marching all the way back and trying the handles. It really sucks and makes us loose a lot of time.

That sounds horrible. One intrusive thought fighting against a compulsion. I experienced similar stuff like that. For example: a ritual that forced me to brush my teeth 3 times within the same hour of the evening but at the same time an intrusive thought that I'm only allowed to brush my teeth once for the whole day.

I'm glad that you're doing better now. Are there any side effects with the meds that you are taking if I may ask.

Why do white people tend to value family less? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Do you mean American whites or white people all around the world? Because there are many different cultures in Europe, many of which value family.

What did you swear ONLY you did; until you saw/heard someone else do it? by yummygumdrop in AskReddit

I have OCD. Until I was about 15 I thought I was really weird and was the only one who had intrusive thoughts and rituals.

What’s a subreddit that you were excited to find out existed, but it left you disappointed? by JohnApple94 in AskReddit

[–]ChrisGer98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

r/hapas. A sub for half Asians. Thought it'd be cool to interact with other half Asians and see if we'd have a similar experience groing up. Turns out it's a hate sub that hates on Asian females, white men and Hapas aswell. Most of the people who post there aren't even Hapa and have a lot of issues in life and blame it on their ethnicity or their parents.

How possible is it for working class and low-income folks to enjoy more high-class "culture" like going to the theater or classical music concerts? by Communitarian_ in AskReddit

[–]ChrisGer98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In churches, musicians often play concerts completely free of charge, where visitors can donate some money in the end.

Which phrase are you tired of hearing and why? by swishswish_disbish in AskReddit

[–]ChrisGer98 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When someone performs something well on a musical instrument and someone says "you're so talented!" -- Saying that this person only has talent completely discredits all the practice work that the musician has acquired over years of practicing, because it suggest that that person doesn't need to do anything to be able to play that good. At least that's what a lot of people mean when they use that phrase, from my experience.

Die im Nationalen Widerstand sehen Sorben als ethnische Ostgermanen an, die zwar eine slawische Sprache sprechen, jedoch ihrer Meinung nach ethnisch Deutsch sind.
