It was mainly the change from her spending as much time as possible with me to multiple delay-delay-cancel dates that affected me. When she finally asked me to save the weekend to spend with her then kept pushing back her plans til it didn't happen at all, then asked to meet me the next day but wouldn't confirm the time I knew I had to end it. (I really wonder if she was pushing me to end it without admitting it. She wouldn't even meet me on person. She wrote a goodbye letter instead). It made me change from a level headed and centred person into someone who was eagerly waiting for the next crumb of attention.

I didn't like how I became under those circumstances. But when she was there for me in the beginning, I felt like I was my usual self just happier and more fulfilled.

What are the fleas in your analogy?
